Mr. Godfrey showed up on time and prepared to repair my screen door that fell off at the hinges. Mr. Godfrey's work is better than the original installation. I will refer him to all my friends and family.
I love to support good people and small businesses! We had a company come out and look at our garage door to do some maintenance. The one spring was looking odd. The price they provided made me feel like we were buying a new door. Thankfully for Thumbtack (highly recommend), they found Andrew Yee for me. He was very prompt, honest, kind and down to earth with us. Excellent pricing and fixed our door within a matter of days! Please reach out to Andrew for any of your needs!!!!
Background: My fiancé and I purchased a condo in downtown Pittsburgh in late November of 2014. We were ending our rental-lease at another location in downtown on December 31, 2014, and had a move-in date planned for the end of December. We planned to contract a complete interior makeover of the condo before moving in, so we had a deadline of a few weeks to get it done. Augustine Painting came in and completed a high-quality project on 1600 square feet of condominium living space for us, including removing all wallpaper (every room), painting all walls/trim in the condo, repairing damaged walls and electrical plates, repairing damaged doors/trim/fixtures, and assisting in repairing appliances, all while beating our deadline. Communication: Ken responded within hours after we contacted him on Thumbtack, and he was able to come directly to our condo within 48 hours to give us a quote and overview of his services. He was highly personable, professional, to the point, and upfront with any issues or concerns that he had as we made the initial walk through. Following the walk through, he and his wife then provided us with an easy to follow and competitively priced proposal which we accepted. Ken and his crew began working immediately. He kept me informed daily on what exactly was being done, making sure to be straight forward and thorough in his communications. He was also specific, upfront, and reasonable regarding anything that he felt was out of scope from our original contract. We had Ken perform a little more work that we had originally planned due to some unforeseen circumstances, and he quickly provided us with additional contracts/documents of scope where needed. Throughout the process, Ken exceeded our expectations in his responsiveness. If one of us called him and he was unable to answer it immediately, he would almost always give us a call back within minutes. Quality: Our unit was originally designed and decorated in the mid-1980s, so there was faded, peeling, flower-covered wallpaper throughout the condo. The first project was for Ken to remove all of this in a timely manner. To our pleasure, most of it was removed within a few days. To specifically point out Kens handiness and versatility, we had one bathroom in the unit which had very thick, hard glue beneath the wallpaper. Ken was unable to use chemicals or steam to remove it, so he had several of his associates sand and detail the bathroom before painting it. It turned just as faultless as the rest of the condo when it was all said and done. The second project was painting, which was also done in a precise and high quality matter. After Ken had finished the initial painting, he allowed us to go to the condo to inspect it. He gave us a blue roll of tape, and he told us to put a small piece anywhere that we wanted a touch up or found a splatter. To our pleasure, we found only a few trouble spots which were corrected the next day. Summary: Overall, we were 100% satisfied with the work that Augustine Painting provided us with. I would recommend Ken to anyone looking to contract interior wallpaper removal or painting.
Leo was awesome. Ordered a bed which came un-assembled. And when I say un-assembled, I mean the bed arrived in a box with a bunch of wood and hardware - it was like someone took a puzzle, dumped it in a box and mailed it to me. When I opened it I freaked! There was no way I was going to even try to tackle this. I kept putting it off and putting it off because I didn't want to deal with putting that thing together. Needless to say I am not mechanically inclined, nor do I claim or care to be. I advertised the project online and Leo responded with the fairest price for the job AND was the most professional person to respond. After the project was finished, in record time and completely perfect I might add, we asked him if he would be interested in completing other projects in our home - we have so many things that need fixed, repaired, installed etc. Bathroom, bedroom, kitchen - you name it. My father is in poor health lately and, although very mechanically inclined, is unable to fix, repair and install things like he used to. Therefore, a lot of things are in disrepair and there exists a lot of uncompleted projects. We decided that we could really use a guy like Leo. We asked him about painting a few rooms. He gave us a fair estimate and we know, if he continues to work for us, will produce nothing but the best! He actually just called to make sure that we receive his estimate. I spoke with him and, again, he is very professional, and he made sure he followed-up with a formal estimate for the painting job we had asked about in a timely fashion. I am glad he called, because, although I kept thinking, "I need to leave Leo a review," I kept being interrupted by other things. So, to sum it up, if you need a professional handyman/jack-of-all-trades, able to fix, install, repair, etc. (and don't be afraid to ask him if he is willing or able to do a certain project - he is forthright and capable, with big jobs or small), don't just consider Leo, HIRE him already, for goodness sake! PS: My father is about the pickiest person ever created and EVEN HE WAS SATISFIED with Leo and his work...how about that?
Sonny did a bunch a bunch of maintenance on a rental property of mine--electrical, plumbing, painting, door repair, etc. Very quick, responsive, and professional. Highly recommended!
RV was very professional. He quoted the price upfront and explained the work that would be covered. RV was efficient and cleaned up his work area before leaving. I am already planning on hiring him to complete additional work for me. I would highly recommend him for any home repair jobs.

Ed Helms did some exterior repair work on my side porch and also took the time to do a couple of smaller tasks that I requested. Very nice to work with and very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I plan to hire him again!
Joe did a great job, completely fixed the dining room window and repaired the mechanics on the bathroom window as well as possible.
I had Royal Contracting replace the roof on the extension of the house, fix both chimneys (sealed and capped), and repair some outside wooden trims. They were very professional all the way. They provided a very reasonable price for the job and came out within two weeks after the quote. I really love the new roof, and I am very glad with their work. Matt and his team did a fabulous job!
Did a good job rehanging a garage door which was out of square.
Matt was a great handyman and helped with a number of more complex projects including repairing tile in the bathroom, calking the tub, grouting the bricks outside and repairing our window above the kitchen sink, refinishing our front door and several other projects. We were very happy with him.
Ray came to fix a threshold problem I had with the laminate flooring in one bedroom. He figured out how to take care of it and repaired it accordingly. He also replaced an interior door which had to be adjusted to fit. He repaired the door jamb as well. I found him to be punctual, polite and very professional. He was careful to clean up and did a high quality job. I will definitely be hiring him again!
Terry is versatile! He replaced downspouts, repaired a door and installed light fixtures. And for a final act, put together a dog crate for me. I have more demanding projects planned (cabinet making, woodwork restoration and rebuilding a back porch) and am confident Terry will do a great job. Reasonable rate, on time service, quality work and a nice guy. You can't go wrong. Hire Terry.
Matthew built a shed for us and redid our roof. He did both projects on schedule and within our budget . He has also done misc. repairs around the house. He has become the person that we call for all of our projects.
First of all it is difficult to find a good contractor that shows up and completed the job. Chad was a blessing, he replaced my old front door when homedpot and lowes refused to take on the task. He was professional, honest and I am so glad I found him on Thumbtack. He was patient with my ever changing project requests and gave me a great price for the work.I will definitely use him again, I have a few more projects lined up for him.
Old heavy door and springs broke. They came out in 1 day and gave an estimate...very fair. They had to order a part which came in quickly and repairs were done the next day. Easy to work with, knowledgeable and fair!
Bill was great! I put a request in through thumbtack and he got back to me immediately and was also cheaper than other people that responded. He did an excellent job with my repair needs.
David repaired the latching on four of our interior doors. He responded to every communication quickly and was very professional. The day of the work he was on time and did an outstanding job.
