I had the honor of taking part in a private in home dinner featuring lead Chef Shaun Forsett. Overall: My experience was amazing. Being accustomed to small plates, tasting menu, and high end prix fixe experiences in Washington, D.C. it was a delight to have a taste of foodie heaven in my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Hosted in a private Shadyside home, I experienced an amazing evening of expertly paired flavors. "Shef" Shaun is ever the professional. He was personable and knowledgeable giving step by step guidance of what he was doing. He assured us of the highest quality of his ingredients and gave a casual walk through the art of food. What left me amazed is that the food tasted as beautiful as it looked. There is nothing like having a photo worthy of Instagram depicting food worthy of praise. We began the evening with a first course of pan seared sea scallops. It was a colorful creation accented with fresh mango, endive, dill, a balsamic reduction and a beautiful basil oil. It was an energetic flavor pairing and it literally danced on my tongue. He walked us through step by step and I realized how much knowledge Shef Shaun had when explained exactly why he used every ingredient he used. Our second course was a Chili Crab Toast topped with Pickled Cucumber, Paprika Aioli, Leeks & Coriander.. Can I tell you how delightful this was? The cucumbers were freshly pickled and garnished with cilantro. As the Chef prepared this dish, he explained how he only used claw meat and for what reasons. It was like getting a cooking lesson and an fun evening all in one. And finally this amazing third course. Who the heck would think to put caviar on a grape. We has a Raspberry Coulis with Kiwi, Creme Fraiche, Grapes topped with Caviar, Sliced Almond... I will just leave that here. It was THAT amazing. I wish I could kidnap this guy and bring him to DC it's like having an amazing chef in your home whenever you need. I also think he would be good for many other intimate occasions. Or if you just want a cooking lesson, Shef Shaun was not apprehensive about sharing his knowledge. The mark of someone truly confident in his craft.

Ms. Emily is amazing she not only taught me new cooking skills but she also gave me the comfort to have courage in my cooking and exploring beyond. Searching for a trainer was hard for me, I wanted someone who is educated and could answer any questions that came up. After finding him on the Tumbtack app, I noticed he had multiple degrees and he was also a chef! So I hired him and after the first day I could tell he was truly something special. His knowledge and his workouts are something I look forward to each week. I would have Nick live in my guesthouse if I could! That’s how good he is. He is always coming up with different workouts and is always supplying me with healthy recipes to cook right after our workouts! He is fantastic and I couldn’t recommend him more!

Deb is amazing! Her food is delicious. She is organized, clean and very polite. The food is tailored to your tastes, wants and likes and I'm sure she would be a delight for you and your family too. The best thing is there are not any pots, pans or dishes for us to do and with our busy work lives, getting healthy, nutritious meals are important for us. I hope you enjoy the CareFree yourselves!

      We had Rich do a live cooking demonstration on flavor profiling. Not only was Rich prepared and informative, but he was lots of fun and his food was fantastic!! I loved how Rich customized his training to our likes and needs. He was very sensitive and focused on customer satisfaction. Did I say the food was amazing!! My favorite was the coffee rub flank steak!! The smoked jalapeño potato salad, watermelon 3 ways, and pineapple dessert was fabulous!! Would definitely recommend Gastro-Smith Food Services for catering and cooking classes.

        I signed up with the six month plan in October. I was overweight, sluggish and not looking forward to the usual twenty pound winter weight gain. Anna took me through a comprehensive plan that addressed attitude, nutrition, exercise and making food fun while being health. Many theories exist and they can be confusing. Anna does a really good job of filtering out the fads and making a practical plan that can work for you in the long run. If you keep an open mind and follow her advice, I'm sure you find success in your goals that will last for years to come. I kept my weight steady through all the holidays and dropped to a lower weight than I've seen in ten years afterwards. And I'm still there! All while eating what I want and not feeling hungry.
