Introduction: I do Portuguese lessons. I have worked in the field of education for over 15 years. I am a formally trained and educated school teacher, with my focus and specialty being in childhood and adolescent education. My post-graduation work has focus on interdisciplinary learning and motivational techniques. I introduce the alphabet into adolescents learning starting at 4 years of age. My work with children is done in a playful and cheerful manner because of this well-established and accepted method of childhood teaching. It has been recognized by experts in the field of childhood education that a playful and cheerful approach to exchange of information is not only motivational, but significantly opens the child to look at information in different and more positive ways leaving them significantly more motivated to learn and grow. Moylis (2002, p 33), confirms, that through a playful approach, the child has a different and more open perspective, and yet one that is more focused and open to the possibilities of learning in general.
