- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually only charge at an hourly rate in order to avoid issues of me completely the job more quickly. As well as accounting for unforeseen issues that sometimes crop up. I have had a lot of people say they prefer the hourly rate since they feel they can see the work and effort that is commesurate with the pay.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
normally i like to meet them first discuss the project and make sure they know ahead of time what might be involved. i dont like to spring surprise issues on people if i dont have to. if the project is something simple then just a phone or text discussion will be fine.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a firefighter normally and in that career i have worked with many different tradesmen. ive picked up and used all of that varied knowledge to become proficient at most jobs. if i feel i cant do something safely or to someones satisfaction I will step aside and suggest a licensed tradesman.
