Do your homework - shop around, check out their work, compare it to the vision you hope to achieve, make sure their pricing is within your budget, and never underestimate the power of referrals. Don't be afraid to ask questions - anything you can think of... from pricing, to experience in the industry, product knowledge, etc. It helps set the right expectations and ensures you and the artist are on the same page. Hire the artist that fits all of your requirements - Remember.. you're paying for their service, so you should get what you want and love their work.
