Introduction: My name is Sheri A. Andrade, and I am from Pawtucket, RI 02860.
My objective is to create and maintain a safe, clean, positive, fun friendly and relaxed environment for my guests and work in harmony side by side with my employer.
I have over 5 years of bartending experience as well as management in bartending and also as a waitress and sometimes a cook. As an asst. manager/bartender, my job duties and responsibilities included the following:
- opening and/or closing procedures
- uphold the standard operations and control procedures of the beverage department
- utilize the drink recipe file and keep it updated
- know the appropriate glass for each drink
- the appropriate garnish for each drink
- the "pour policy" for each drink
- know the master beverage
- drink and or wine list and be able to describe each
- know the pricing structure for drinks as well as the menu and be able to describe the food, etc.
- properly use the cash register system
- always try to upsell
- know how to order supplies
- follow a maintenance schedule to keep equipment in good working order
- be familiar with liquor laws and responsibilities and serve drinks quickly
The most important part of Bartending and the way I like to start each day at work are my attendance. I always arrive 15 minutes before my shift to set up the bar, to be organized and ready to create and maintain a safe, clean, positive, fun friendly and relaxed environment for my customers.
I take pride in my appearance and look my best when I go to work and last but certainly not least is my attitude (since this is the hospitality industry). I leave home at home (but what am I talking about anyway? I don't have a bad attitude.
I am definitely a people person, so this industry was exactly the one for me) and come into work smiling, pleasantly ready to take care of my customers and treat them well. After all, I am practically a therapist with drinks. I'm charming, and I've mastered small talk. I'm enthusiastic, and I'm always smiling. I enjoy myself, and I give 100% all the time.
