Stacy A. says, "I had the idea of hiring a private chef for my mom’s 70th birthday while we were staying at an Airbnb in Connecticut, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Chef Danielle and her co-host, Rashad, from Cook Something LLC. They were absolutely incredible from beginning to end.
The communication was so easy, friendly, and effortless. From our very first text conversation, Danielle made me feel like I was talking to a friend rather than someone I had never met. She has such an impressive culinary background, and it absolutely showed throughout our dinner.
The entire experience was unforgettable. We loved learning about their company, watching each beautifully presented dish come together, and, of course, eating every bite. The food was phenomenal.
One of my favorite moments was when Danielle remembered that I had casually mentioned I love matzo ball soup. She surprised my entire family by making homemade matzo ball soup, and it meant so much to me. It’s those thoughtful little details that made the evening feel so personal.
When Danielle asked about our food preferences, I told her we eat pretty healthy, love colorful salads, and that my mom’s favorite dessert is anything chocolate. Within just two days, she created a beautifully designed custom menu that was beyond anything I imagined. We had two refreshing salads, a bruschetta hummus that was absolutely to die for (seriously, I could have eaten the entire bowl myself! which I did when I got home from the AirBnB that night), flavorful homemade skewers that were perfect for a summer celebration, delicious sides, and an incredible chocolate dessert. She even brought a birthday candle so we could sing “Happy Birthday”.
She also prepared a completely separate meal for the kids and not just “kid-sized” portions! There was enough delicious food for everyone and then some. The homemade empanadas were a huge hit, and two days later I’m still happily eating her amazing tortellini salad.
She even matched the plateware to our décor! They arrived exactly on time, helped us take all of our silly family photos, laughed with us, and made everyone feel completely comfortable as if they had been celebrating with our family for years.
Speaking of food…I’ve never heard my mom say she was full. She has what we jokingly call a bottomless pit for a stomach, and somehow Danielle managed to fill her up! By the end of the evening, all of us were completely stuffed. I was so full that I couldn’t even think about eating breakfast the next morning.
There are so many little moments I’m sure I’m forgetting because the entire evening was such a blur of laughter, amazing food, and unforgettable memories. I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
If you’re thinking about hiring a private chef for a special occasion, don’t hesitate. Cook Something LLC made my mom’s 70th birthday one of the most memorable celebrations our family has ever had. Danielle and Rashad exceeded every expectation, and I truly hope we get the chance to hire them again."See more
