This original lead had generated over 7 weeks ago. I reached out by call and by text and I only received a text back saying she didn’t know the outdoor shed size she wanted but she wants to get it done. I reply to book a free estimate so I can measure for her and offer her solutions that best fit her needs/wants but all to no reply.
Five weeks later she texts me one evening, “sorry I have been busy” followed by photos of her driveway and in less then 24 hrs the next afternoon at 2pm while I’m working on a project she leaves me a 2 star review. She did not even give me time to review the photos or reply after the workday as I always respond to all my calls and text every day after work. I have never been to Lori’s property, I have never even quoted a job for her, and I never even spoke to her on the phone…she only sent a couple texts to me. Lol This is absolutely the craziest thing I’ve seen in my life.
Ah well, I pray she gets organized and that her project is a successful one. Please take note that every single review I have over multiple years on thumbtack are all 100% 5 star reviews for clients that I actually personally met and did work for.

Building a relationship I believe is the first and most important step.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Experience is THE KEY! In this industry, every single job is so vastly different in it’s own way. And every job always poses many problems. 90% of this work is just solving problems - especially in older homes. Find someone who has much experience and willing to share many photos with you.
Keep in mind that every contractor needs
at bare minimum to be licensed, registered and holding insurance to do business. Make sure your contractor is legitimate by simply checking with the registration board online. This could cost you big time if you choose the wrong pro.
