Experience is THE KEY! In this industry, every single job is so vastly different in it’s own way. And every job always poses many problems. 90% of this work is just solving problems - especially in older homes. Find someone who has much experience and willing to share many photos with you. Keep in mind that every contractor needs at bare minimum to be licensed, registered and holding insurance to do business. Make sure your contractor is legitimate by simply checking with the registration board online. This could cost you big time if you choose the wrong pro.
