My son absolutely loves the tutor from Shining Stars Tutoring. In just a few weeks he's learned a lot.
Outstanding SAT tutor for critical reading/writing. Went above and beyond to find information on new SAT to prepare our son.
I love every moment I go to this class. It a 2 hours long. They help you understand the test and how important it is to score high for your career. They give you a book that you use to practice so you have a hand on approach. I pick this for the ASVAB testing. N I scored a 60 just because I paid attention n study n stay forced.
Whitney provided me with a much needed SAT prep class. My mother and I were worried about my taking the test, I believing a high score was the only affordable way into college and my mother concerned that I was halfway through tenth grade and had not studied anything for it. Knowing little about the SAT, she had purchased a book which I had only glanced at. Having taken Whitney's class, I am very grateful I did not use that book, for I would have walked into the SAT, thinking I was prepared but knowing little more than if I had not studied at all. Whitney has surveyed all the SAT books to find those most accurate to the real test and beneficial to the student, which he used to teach the class. His knowledge is invaluable both to taking the SAT and when applied to future studies in high school and college. He helped me understand the test, gave strategies for mastering each section, and pinpointed my weaknesses to strengthen my skills. His vocabulary cards, for example, were so effective that I memorized over five hundred words and still remember most of them today. Now if I want to learn a new word, I make the same vocabulary cards as I did while preparing for the SAT. And his three types of math cards, which I used in college algebra last semester, prevented me from making the same mistakes twice. Even after completing the class he provided me with information on Wofford College, where he attended and one of the colleges I was applying to, and wrote two recommendations for me during my college application process. Neither Whitney's methods nor his friendship can be found in a book or an online program. I cannot say enough for Whitney and have recommended him to my own friends. Though his rate may seem expensive, it is worth every cent, and I would not hesitate to pay it again if I needed his help. It is an honor to write this recommendation for Whitney, and I recommend Whitney's services with a six-star rating above anyone else or any other program in his field.
Very professional. My daughter made a connection with her and was very pleased in the way she explained everything. Very patient and kind spirited. Will continue to have her work with my daughter.

I have an ability to not only connect with struggling students, but to identify their misconceptions and confusions. This truly helps to build their confidence with the material so that my services are no longer necessary! I like seeing the gains in confidence that students display when they succeed at a subject that has caused them so much difficulty in the past.
We provide tutors that act as an academic coach to those who need our services. This approach is more beneficial in providing long term results. I love to help children and adults reach their goals.
My dedication to working with a student to improve their performance and to make them stretch beyond the average. I achieve great satisfaction in the teaching process and when a student succeeds, so do I.
Unique in its approach, The Learning Tree offers programs that are specifically tailored to each child. Each engagement starts with an initial consultation at which students needs are assessed and matched with a tutor who will then work closely with parents, the student and their teachers to identify areas for improvement in the students learning styles. The Tutor then develops a program with lessons uniquely suited to the student. Our goal is to make the process of learning yield better results and therefore be more satisfying. Through the program, students do become more proficient at mastering the skills taught in regular school curriculum, they build confidence in their ability to learn plus retain lessons, and ultimately develop the desire to achieve in the classroom as well as in life. Our tutors love building confidence in our students- and empowering them with skills and strategies to gain the academic success they deserve!
Our goal is to teach, guide and help students of any age group for science and math through regular time bound practice.
