I hired Rooben to move an electrical outlet (I was having cabinets installed and this outlet was in an inconvenient location). Rooben was quick to respond to any questions I had and arrived at my home at the agreed upon time. He did a great job and vacuumed the work area when he was done. Extremely courteous and professional. Very reasonable cost. I will definitely hire Rooben in the future.
I needed a new front hall light hung. Being 16 plus feet I did not want to attempt this myself. Problem is most all electricians do not want small jobs and one even quotes a minimum of $250.00..... more than half the cost of the light! I will definitely use Rob again and also recommend his company every chance I get. This Rob was the only company who responded to my request on Thumbtack Nick Yeager
I would highly recommend Island Time. Maxine and her husband are easy to work with. Maxine is extremely responsive to phone calls and texts almost 24 hours a day. They are quick to correct anything you are not completely satisfied with. Their plumber spent an entire day moving my spa shower 12 inches because I didn’t like the original placement. I was charged no additional for this. Their quality vs cost is above average. As with any project, you need to have patience because not everything goes exactly to plan. Treat Island time with respect and they will take care of you. We had several estimates and are so happy we got to work with these professionals. I think my dog Mo, who did nothing but bark at them, misses their company.
The most important part of my experience was that my job be handles professionally and that the quality of work was up to my standards. I work in the building industry and was pleased with the completed project.
Jose and his crew did a remarkable job framing and installing a new wood (plywood) floor in my 115 year old outbuilding! It required real know-how to get this floor level on this unevenly settled building (18X16)! He also added some bracing to the roof to insure the building was sound and sturdy going forward. Most remarkable of all is he arrived early, and DID NOT LEAVE until the job was completely finished in one day!!!! All this for $1200. I recommend if you are LUCKY enough to receive a bid from G & I builders....Jump on it! You will not be disappointed!-Diane Collins, Monroe, NC!
Matt and Luke were very professional, very thorough and easy to work with. I enjoyed their honesty and flexibility with our schedule to get things started. Chad and Doug knew exactly what I wanted for our project, were patient and understanding when things did not go exactly as expected and were clearly very knowledgeable and experienced with this renovation. I valued their input in changes we had to make. They are a great team and I would work with them again.
AquaDry was prompt in submitting an estimate, scheduling the work, and completing the work to our total satisfaction. No problems were encountered and we would not hesitate to give them an opportunity to perform work for us in the future.
Steve installed two 4'x8' overhead garage storage racks for me. He did a great job despite several obstacles, such as our studs not running in a straight line, and most of the hardware missing from the second rack. I was able to make a quick run to Lowes to get the needed hardware while Steve continued to work on the racks he had. He also helped me load all of our boxes and items onto the racks afterward, as it was a surprise for my husband. A job which he thought would take about 4 hours ended up taking 7, with a cost of $283.00. I would recommend Steve's company to anyone needing work done around their home.
Jeff did a super job in quickly determining our french door problem. He was able to fix what we thought would be an expensive repair in just a few minutes.
Bob the Builder is amazing. Prompt, courteous, never left a mess in the room where he built a closet and repaired seams in drywall. Affordable, quality work by a true professional. The cost of materials was true - not increased for his profit. We plan to use him again for other projects as our budget permits.
I hired M&M Grounds Maintenance to aerate, seed, and fertilize my yard. I am new to North Carolina, purchased a new home, but am unfamiliar with the needs of maintaining a grass yard here in the South. M&M replied to my initial inquiry within minutes with an initial estimate. M&M was very clear that the initial response was an estimate only and that he would need to see the property before providing a firm quote. The quotes I received for the services ranged from a low or $125 to a high of $225. After several rounds of email with M&M and the other contractors, I was satisfied that each contractor was quoting to the same set of requirements and revised estimates were received. M&M was the only contractor who would provide a firm quote only after inspecting the property. I liked that...no surprises after the fact. Mark and his wife, Shelley arrived at my home on schedule the following Saturday. They sent me a text message saying when they were on the way and the estimated time of arrival. After reviewing the size of my yard and the condition of the grass, Mark provided a firm quotation, introduced me to Shelley, who does the customer service, billing, and scheduling. I agreed to Mark's firm quote. The next day, Sunday, I received a text from Shelley scheduling my service for the following Wednesday in the late afternoon. Mark and his son Daniel arrived around 5:00 PM, again right on schedule. They did a great job, explained to me what and is needed and why, and how often the service is needed. M&M's lawn service also includes application of a pre-emergent in the early spring and again 4 weeks later included in their price. None of the other contractors offered this service. M&M is a family owned and operated small business that understands that customer service is the key to success. They do a great job at a fair price, and are reliable and dependable. M&M won my business and I will be using them for all my lawn care needs.
I hired Sniper Construction to do some remodeling at our business beacuse they immediately responded on thumbtack. Chris, the owner, came personally to check out the location and project. Made me feel very comfortable about remodeling at my business. He finished the job in a few hours and we were extremely sayistififed. We also hired him to do additional work and will continue to do business with him in the future. I would extremely recommend this company for anyone who wants their job done right away and also with a great value.
Timeline of work to be done: After having a company back out due to a heavy work load and no time to complete ours, I contacted Ben to see if he would be willing and able to do the work we needed within a short time frame as we were moving in on the 23rd. Ben was gracious enough to meet me at our home on Thursday, August 14th, for a walk through. While here, he noticed a strong pet smell from the previous owner's pets and spoke with me about the carpets and said he could have someone out the next day to have them cleaned and deodorized. Yes, he does carpets too! That was immediately agreed upon and then later that evening, as promised, he sent an estimate on the painting project and we accepted his proposal. Description of work: In addition to having the carpets cleaned in 7 bedrooms, 2 stairwells, and 4 additional living areas, they were to paint ceilings, trim and walls in office, dining room, entry, downstairs bath, downstairs bedroom, den, kitchen, 2 stairwells, large playroom, bedroom and bathroom. Then we added to our contract our master bedroom and bathroom, upstairs hallway, bathroom and all closets in rooms that we painted ourselves. Process: The carpets were cleaned on Friday and over the weekend we noticed an even stronger smell of pet urine in several rooms. Ben sent his cleaning crew out a second time later in the week, at no extra charge, to retreat specific areas. After the second time, we were both satisfied with the results. We knew that he would not be able to have his painting crew start until Tuesday, August 19th, and Tuesday morning they promptly arrived and got started prepping walls. The gentlemen that Ben has working with and for him are top notch, very polite and hard workers. They had a lot of work to do here and worked odd hours throughout the week to make sure everything was done in time and to our satisfaction. The quality of work met our expectations and then some. From our perspective: Would we hire BWH Services again? Yes. Would we recommend Ben? Absolutely, without a doubt. What went wrong? Nothing. Ben saw a need - we were without painters and were moving in a week's time - and while he knew it would be pushing it to get the work done, he had faith in his crew(s) that they could do it and they did. Ben is a stand up guy, very polite and engaging. It's doesn't seem to be just business with him, but about building relationships to help meet customers needs for now and for the future. THANK YOU, Ben and BWH Services, for providing OUTSTANDING quality work at a very reasonable and fair price. We appreciate all that you did to help make our move a little less stressful.
I had Bruce install crown moulding throughout my home. He was cost effective, showed up on time, and performed the work quickly and with no disruption to us. Bruce is very knowledgeable and his finished product is excellent. I gladly recommend him.
