FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I estimate my jobs based off what my client is asking for when I meet with them. I provide the labor costs plus the miscellaneous parts and pieces and allow the clients to pick and provide their own finish products. I will provide a list in my estimate of the items they need to purchase. This allows clients to control their own budget. What is going in is irrelevant to me as it all goes in the same way. My estimates are intended for no further cost impacts. I do not write change orders, unless its unforeseen mold, water, or termite damage. My philosophy is, if I missed it in my estimate then that's on me and the client should not be held responsible for my error. I am not the cheapest, and certainly not the most expensive, but I do have pride in my work and charge a fair price for a qaulity finished products. I do offer discounts for retirees, veterans, active service members, first responders, and federal, state, and county employees because I appreciate the hard work you all have done and continue to do every day.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process is simple. Once I meet the client and we discuss what it is they have in mind I then go back and compile an estimate and submit it. Once we discuss any concerns or constraints both sides may have, and we come to an accord we then sign a contract. It is then that I work with them on a design and color palette. We discuss finishes and where to best apply their investment. I also have a 30-year network of supplies, venders, and distributors here in the Lowcountry that I refer them too. Many of these places I hold accounts at and can provide additional savings to them. Once we order finish products because of the lead times it is then time to set a start date for commencement. Once commencement day comes it is time for the demo process, followed by retrofitting, and then finally the finishes. Each day begins with a morning huddle to go over what is going to be accomplished for the day and then an end of day meeting to look over the days progress and answer any questions they have. Yes, Customer service does still exist! I am a company of one. I do all the work myself. This way I can keep the cost down because of the low overhead, but I can keep the qaulity of the product consistent throughout all three-construction process and as we work through the different trades/skillsets. In addition, the client only has to worry about one person coming and going from their home. I find that this is actually a very meaningful point for my clients.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
This is a great Question. I not only process the actual hand skillset to implement the work, but I also have the ability to run a company behind the scenes. - Bachelor of Computer Science - Charleston Southern University - 2014 - Associate in Information Systems Technology - TTC - 2012 - Certified Microcomputer Expert User - TTC - 2012 - Certified Microcomputer Business Applications TTC - 2012 - Certified Construction Project Manager - RVCC - 2010 - Certified Master Carpenter/Inspector - Woodworkers Insititute -2008 - Certified OSI Products Installer - OSI - 2023 - Former Installation Manager at West Shore Home - 40+ years on the job training
