Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am completely committed to training and helping people as well as dogs. I left a career in the administrative world to make my life's passion, my life's work. I follow up with my customers, keep in touch with them and add them to a group email list (which is kept confidential) in which I sent out info on dog training articles (my own and my colleagues), behavior, local dog friendly events and any other information I feel my clients may need to know or benefit from. It is my passion to save dogs' lives, and if I don't do my job well, I feel that I am failing the dog as well as his/her owners. The rewards of seeing a dog make progress in Obedience, Behavior Modification or whatever the case may be are like no other. There is nothing like seeing the ear to ear smile on a pet parents face when they see their dog learning and offering desired behavior. Also, to know that I helped a dog find or stay in his/her furever home because I helped teach basic manners is the best reward in the world. Teaching people and dogs how to communicate and build positive relationships can be challenging, but nothing is more rewarding.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Working on manners! So many clients contact me to help with teaching their dog 'manners' - examples include nipping, jumping, excited behavior and loose leash walking. The first thing I tell my clients is that they need to realize these are common and typical canine behaviors. That doesn't mean that we can't teach them other behaviors, however a human's understanding of manners and a canine's understanding of manners are typically totally different. I work to help the dog understand what we want from him, and help the pet parents understand the dog's point of view.....and what he may be trying to communicate to us.
