Jacob is great! I've been doing singing lessons with him for the past few months and I am already better then I was, and am more confident than I was!
I have taken a few piano lessons from John, and I find his method of teaching to be both encouraging and instructive. He has an obvious passion for music and a knack for explaining concepts in a way that is clear and precise, without being overly technical or intimidating. I would recommend him to anyone looking to develop their overall understanding of music, and definitely to anyone who hopes to learn to improvise and arrange their own pieces!
Piano lessons. Nathan is an excellent teacher, professional and patient.
I love her already. She's very encouraging and helpful. I'm excited to see where the lessons will take me.
Marcin has taught me piano lessons for several years. He is very talented and is a great teacher!
The experience of learning guitar from Matt has blown any expectation that I might of had. I came to Nashville from LA with the desire to learn some guitar basics geared towards song writing. I wasn't sure if that was a feasible option, but that was my hope. Not only have I learned many basics, but Matt's style of teaching has connected so many dots from long lost childhood piano lessons in a way that really makes sense for me. Matt's an amazing musician which is obvious up front, but his aptitude in assigning learning materials that both interest you and push you without overwhelming you has made this learning experience nothing short of exceptional. He's patient, informative, and the type of teacher that puts you immediately at ease. If you're looking for lessons, you'd be crazy to choose anyone else. Definitely five brilliantly, shining gold stars!
Annie is an amazing educator, performer, and student of music! I highly recommend her for any of your music ventures. She’s down to earth, always puts me at ease, and is an all-around joy to work with. A million thumbs up for Annie!
I'm a songwriter but not a very good guitar player. I've taken four lessons so far from Denny and his instruction just in that short time has significantly improved my understanding and limited ability playing guitar.
I was a student of Jimmy's at the Berklee College of Music. He taught theory as well as ear training to me. He was polite, respectful and relatable to ensure that I could understand the material. I highly recommend!
Matt is great!!! He’s very patient and makes the lessons fun for my child.
I've been taking guitar lessons with Dan for a couple months now. I have been played piano since I can remember, and always wanted to learn how to play guitar, but never got around to it. I can say I'm definitely getting more comfortable and confident with it after a few lessons. I like that he doesn't just teach you basic chords, but also really gets into finger picking and intricate exercises as well. On top of being a great teacher, he's such a friendly and inspiring human being. I would highly recommend guitar lessons with him!
Plain and simple, Hannah Anders changed my life. 2 years ago I was afraid to sing in public. I just finished a three song album and a music video. Hannah Anders truly ROCKS. She will inspire and teach and even offer excellent dating advice. She’s the total package.
Incredibly talented vocalist that understands the music business and most importantly, is fun to be around. Highly recommended for vocal lessons and studio work!
Both of my children have been taking lessons (violin and piano) at The Music House for two years now and we have had a wonderful experience. Our teachers have been professional and engaged. They seem to know how to really work well with each individual child and cater the lessons to their level as well as their needs/desires. I can't recommend strongly enough!
Bob Lewis was my on and off guitar teacher for close to 10 years in Wilkes-Barre Pa. I started with Bob at 12, gave up (my first mistake!) taught myself came back at 16 and studied with him for four or five years. In those four/five years I learned General to Moderate level Music Theory including Diatonic Theory, Chord building Theory, scale theory, chord progressions, picking posture ect. I could go on for days about what I learned but the fact that the social climate of those thirty minute weekly sessions was always calm, relaxed and full of fresh ideas. Every concept was very straight forward and if it was a bit complex (such as modal guitar solos,) Bob would explain it in a way that made sense based on our prior sessions (aka, he actually adapts to your idiosyncrasies ) At any point when I hit a wall Bob was immediately finding ways to climb over the wall. If it was not in that session by next week he would have devised a plan to work on overcoming the daunting idea at hand. Aside from the straight forward learning methods, if you go into a lesson with Bob off the cuff without any goals in mind for your development he can easily break down what you need to work on and how your should work on it. Also... Bob can shred...so fear not fret board wizards! As for what could have been better I have not much to say. The fact is with most good teachers your own ignorance is usually the problem and when i started at 12 by the time i came back at 16 I realized that Bob's method was not flawed, it was my attention span. The Man is a brilliant guitar player and all around musician and is well worth your time.
I started taking voice lessons when I was 65. Jaie was a phenomenal teacher during the three years I took private lessons and adapted to my learning style, which is very analytical. My range has greatly expanded. She was able to teach me the physics of singing. Even though I don’t read music I am able to adapt and relate the notes even though I don’t know what they are called. I now receive many compliments on my singing and how much I have improved. She was patient yet demanding of excellence. Her personality and positive feedback helped my progression.
Tony provided excellent music for our event. Very professional and personable. Very easy to work with. I would highly recommend Mr. Tony Sarno for anyone looking for excellent professional entertainment.
Pamela Pierson is a very talented instructor who cares about the student as well as the music. She takes time to listen to what the student is doing. She also asks the student what they want to accomplish and tailors the lessons toward a common goal. Pamela is also patient where needed but has the ability to be just as firm. I am very grateful as a parent to have found Pamela and have recommended her to many others.
My daughter takes guitar lessons from Keith. She's 10 and pretty shy but Keith is very patient. He has taught her about new genres of music and new musicians. He encourages her to bring in things she wants to learn. She enjoys her lessons a lot and has discovered a talent she didn't know she had, with Keith's gentle, encouraging direction. She has enjoyed it so much she's inspired her sister to take lessons from Keith as well. In addition, Keith is phenomenonally talented and sometimes he plays a little after her lesson is over, and that's always a treat!
Tara Tinsley is extremely talented! She also has the upmost patience while teaching. I am a beginner at the guitar, and if there was a word to describe "less a than beginner," that would be me. She went at my own pace because obviously I am very slow to switch between chords. I have taken a couple lessons so far and as long as I practice what she teaches at home I know I will be able to play songs in no time. I would recommend her to anybody for guitar lessons. Her office is in a great, historic building in downtown Tacoma. It is a professional office building with free street parking close by (which is almost impossible to find downtown). The lobby has seating for students and/or parents to wait. For parents that don't want to wait inside, there is a coffee and wine bar a block away! If anyone is skeptical she has music on YouTube and Spotify. Check it out and I know you will be convinced to learn from her!
I have been playing classical piano for over 25 years, and I love to share the joy I get out of playing with others by teaching them all the basics - from reading music to technique to expression - so that they can enjoy playing too.
