Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have a passion for dogs and for dog training, it is truly what I love. However, I know that just training the dog individually is not the complete answer. The owner must know how to continue the training, what their dog responds to and why, what the tendencies are of their dog, and how to use them to their benefit. Training the owner, may be more important than training the dog. Even the best trained dogs will not listen to an owner whom they do not love and respect. Seeing a dog progress and learn is the most self-gratifying experience I have ever had. It is extremely moving to see a dog work and work and then rejoice in the praise and love given for a job-well-done.

Travis was the 3rd board-and-train facility/trainer we took Fischer, our male Rottweiler, to over the course of his first year as a puppy. The first trainer did not work with us at all so we could continue his training at home, the second trainer did not listen to our concerns and instead thought that training him to retreat to his bed on command would somehow solve our concerns with Fischer’s obedience. In our case the third time was truly the charm. Travis was very professional, and you could tell right away he not only had an incredible depth of knowledge about dogs, but also a true passion for working with them. Unlike the second trainer Fischer saw, Travis didn’t just apply some blanket training method for Fischer, he got to know and understand his personality and personalized his experience. He ended up teaching us a lot about our little man that we didn’t even know or realize. Most importantly, Travis didn’t just hand us a piece of paper or spend 15 minutes teaching us what Fischer learned when his training was complete, he took time to work with my wife and me to make sure we were comfortable and well prepared to continue Fischer’s training at home. One final perk is that Travis’ services actually cost the least out of the 3 trainers we tried and ended up superseding the other’s attempts to train Fischer by leaps and bounds.

Travis did an excellent job working with my three year old high-anxiety, high-energy dog, Jackson. Travis kept our dog for four days, and I can already see a huge improvement in Jackson's confidence. He also spent an afternoon working with us and Jackson until we felt confident that we could continue the training regimen at home. Travis provided a truly tailored approach to our dog. He really took his time to get to know Jackson and figured out how we could work with, not against, our dog's unique personality and breed make-up. He offered us practical guidance on how to handle specific trouble areas with Jackson and also advised us on the big picture - how to create an environment where Jackson can be successful. Besides his K-9 expertise, Travis was great to work with on a personal level. He provided us with daily updates of photos, videos, and emails so that I did not worry about our dog once. Jackson was clearly happy and confident under Travis' guidance. I highly recommend Travis to anyone looking for help with their dog.

Excellent. Travis is a warm and caring trainer of dogs. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to send their dog to school. Travis kept our Mandy for one week and she has been well behaved for a five month old.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

To me, one of the best approaches to training a dog is for me to board and train the dog for a couple of days (3-7) and then work with the owner for a day or two. And then continue a similar regiment.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Choose someone who will invest as much in you and your dog as you are going to invest in them. Someone who enjoys their work and is TRUSTWORTHY!!!!! Honesty, Integrity, Dependability, Commitment should still be held above making a dollar
