I recently had a family emergency and needed a Petsitter. I never had done this, so I was very nervous. But Marcy put all my worries to rest. She did an excellent job taking care of my 5 pets. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats. One of my dogs is very unfriendly towards strangers but Marcy even won her over. I will continue to hire her to take care of my furbabies. So if you need someone to take exceptional care of your pets hire Marcy. She is fantastic.

Cedahlia has been an excellent care giver of my 6 year old Scottie, Zeke , over the past few years. She has stayed in my house when I'm away and I've found her to be concientious, trustworthy, and very professional. On my most recent trip my return fights were delayed and she stayed with the dog until she was sure I would make it home.

Let me tell y'all about Asia. Seriously, the best thing that has ever happened to our family. My wife and I are both teachers. We have 2 full grown dogs that have access to outside with our doggie door (through a very secured fence). Our puppy Piper, on the other hand, cannot go outside yet until she gets a little older. So, us being both teachers we were worried about kenneling all day long for the pup. What was our solution? Asia. Piper stays in a secured pen all day with a crate to sleep in and access to a pee pad. Asia comes mid-day daily to let her out and love on her for about 15 mins or so. Piper loves it and I know Asia does too. She sends daily pictures of the mess and the pee pas exchange if there is one and also loving pictures of our dog enjoying some belly rubs. We couldn't do our day to day grind of a job without Asia. She is seriously a puzzle piece in our lives and we would recommend her to the moon and back. Don't miss out on Ms. Asia!!!!!! Heather has taken care of both our cat and dog on several occasions while we were away from home. She always does an outstanding job. She has an excellent way with animals, spending time with them and making sure all of their needs are met. I highly recommend Heather for any pet care needs you may have.

I do dog walking. If you're dog needs to be walked, I will do it for very affordable prices. You don't have to worry; it will be cheap!

I love watching kids and dogs. I can take care of them very good and clean up after them, so you won't come home to a messy house. I'll feed and play with them. I'll take your dogs on walks and also keep them company, so they won't feel alone. I'm just trying to do something this summer which is playing with dogs and kids.

I'm young and very helpful to many people in Memphis. I want to have a summer job by sitting and walking cats and dogs.

I'm available anytime, any day, and on holidays too! I do pet sitting, training, walking, breeding, birthing, and instructing your animal, whether it's getting ready to give birth or just needing to understand your animal. I am an amazing trainer, and I even work with police dogs and military dogs. Anything you need I can provide at a low-cost rate. I simply love animals and love to love them. I just started my own business because working for other people, I saw way to much abuse and/or neglect, so I started my own, where I am the one taking care of the animals for you, so there is no neglect or abuse. Your animal(s) are in the best-of-the-best hands with me and my fiance, Keith, who is my business partner does jobs for me if I am on a pet sitting/house-sitting job and cannot get to the job. We have many references, just email or call me, and I will gladly email or call you with them! The pay rate for 1 full day and that night is $30-$60 depending on how many animals you have and if there are extra requests (available) that I have to charge for, like cleaning the kennel once a day is $5, and walking one animal for 1 hour is $15, and if there are two animals to walk, I only charge an extra $10.

I Love to meet and get to know animals!!. I love to pet sit. I can go by daily, or I can stay all night if needed. I would love to take care of your fur babies!

Years working with dogs to have a very in depth understanding of the species and also the human factor and the bond between them. Will go beyond the usual to make sure customer satisfaction is achieved and that their pet/companion has achieved what was directed which also makes the dog(s) have a happier life.

I have a veterinarian technician diploma. I love caring for animals. I have also done internship at Humane Society and other facilities. I walk dogs, groom and also pet sit. I'm also able to read Perry's very well and I can tell if something is bothering them or wrong with them.

I pet sit, and I take pet walking for extra money, so I can help my mother out because I love my mother, and I love pets.

I can pet sit, dog walk, and clean your house. I am an animal lover, and pets deserve the best possible care. So when you are out of town, I would be available to feed, walk and exercise your dog.

I walk dogs and also feed them. I make sure they are well taken care of. I also take them for walks and grooming.

Everything I do, I do to please and satisfy my clients. There is nothing I can't do especially when it comes to pleasing my peers.

I offer dog sitting and walking for people who are very busy and those who need go out of town. I love pets. I have pets of my own. I have one dog, one cat and a fish. I've been doing this for years to make a extra buck.

I aim to be with dogs and be with them more often. I am the number-one dog lover.

We love to watch your furry kids while you're away! We have a house with a fenced-in backyard. It's much more fun for your pooch than a kennel or a boarding facility! We never have more than six pups at a time, so your dog is safe and free to have fun!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

    • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
    • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
    • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
    • What are your different walk routes?
    • When will you pick up and drop off?
    • How will we communicate?
    • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
    • What’s your cancellation policy?
    • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
    • How and how often do I pay you?
    • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.
