About
I have taught 12 years in public school ,including adult night school, giving me great opportunities to work with a wide variety of students at different levels. I have also taught at the preschool level and worked with students with special needs. My 32 years of total teaching experience give me a unique perspective to reach any student where they are and develop their skills and talent.
I really enjoy helping students feel empowered by working with them to develop new skills. The look of accomplishment they get when having mastered a new piece is priceless.
To have a successful experience, the student needs to have access to a piano or keyboard for daily practice. I teach beginners and intermediate players using traditional method books.

Julie is a wonderful teacher. She helped my children develop a love of music that has helped them grow so much and continues as they have gotten older. I would recommend her to everyone she is fantastic.

Mrs. Naids worked with Connor for a few years, I attribute a lot of his love for music to her. If a child is serious about their music, Mrs. Nails is definitely the one to go to. We love her, her love for the kids & their aspirations! Thank you Mrs. Naids!!

Ms. Julie is responsive and kind. She has offered our two children, ages nine and five, an appropriate level of challenge. We enjoy taking our children to learn with her.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I recommend that students start with a 30 min. lesson at a fee of $20. Students extend to 45 min. to an hour as they advance and those are priced at $30 and $40 respectively.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet for an informal, complimentary, "get to know each other" mini lesson to start off. This takes the pressure off our first meeting and lets us introduce ourselves with a little talking and a little playing time and lets you know how lessons are arranged.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my bachelors degree in Music Education from Florida State University, one of the top programs in the nation. I also have my Orff Level 1 certification from the University of Memphis.
