Ellen's Pet Sitting is by far, the best person, including friends and family, to have watch your furbabies! This is not only her business, but her life, and it seems that there is not one animal/pet, that she isn't familiar with and has not taken care off! (Guinea pigs, hermit crabs, even our leopard gecko!) She works so hard and is so loving to her people clients as well as the pets in her care. She sends pictures and updates daily, which is so appreciated, but with Ellen, its as if you don't even need this perk because I NEVER WORRY ABOUT MY BABIES. It is such a good feeling when you don't have to worry AT ALL about your pets bc you know you have the best pet sitter in the world! Ellen is trustworthy and professional, and she is reasonably priced! I don't think you'd find a better pet sitter if you tried! We all love you, Ellen! C and B and "the zoo"!
"On April 30th, 2015, my husband and I adopted a shelter dog, Keeva. Cory Ann took care of Keeva just two weeks after we adopted her due to an already booked weekend trip we had to take. I was so nervous about leaving Keeva so soon, but in the brief time Cory Ann was at hour home, what began as an initial meet and greet turned into a very impressive demonstration of how quickly training can be effective if positive praise is used correctly. In one brief hour, Cory Ann taught Keeva (and modeled for us) three CRUCIAL commands Leave It, Sit and Stay at doors so Keeva would never dart out) and Off so that Keeva would learn early that adult furniture is not pet furniture. By showing us how to use repetition, praise, and treats to allow Keeva to succeed quickly, we were able to confidently continue working with her after Cory Ann left. Within a VERY short time, Keeva mastered all three commands. Our friends who come over and the people we met at training school were all so impressed that we had such a young dog who doesnt run out any door in the house when its opened (a very dangerous behavior), who doesnt eat food off the floor (dangerous and annoying), and who doesnt jump all over the furniture leaving black fur everywhere.
Our experience with Ace and Susie at Meadowbrooke was exceptional. We were impressed with their knowledge of animal behavior and their commitment to correct behavioral problems. Our puppies began the two-week program as little criminals and ended up with basic manners and an understanding that they were no longer in charge. Of course, the training class for us didn't hurt. We used to dread our daily walks and now look forward to them because neither dog pulls like it's a sled race anymore. Both can heel very well now and seem to enjoy it. We can't say enough about Ace and Susie and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
After having a really bad experience with another trainer, I was really wary when looking for a replacement. My Australian Shepherd, Oliver, is extremely intelligent; but lacked focus and displayed hyperactive and compulsive behaviors. I'm writing this after only one session because within five hours, my unfocused and compulsive dog was able to perform extended sits from 30 yards away, come when called and could even be trusted to walk with me off leash. Obviously, you need to take the time to work with your dog if you want to see any results, but the tools and guidance I received even in the first day have allowed me to communicate effectively with Oliver and get work done.
I would definitely recommend Lyell Flagg as a dog trainer. Our family adopted a Border Terrier, Wesley, who acted almost like a feral animal. He had no socialization, was aggressive at times, and very hyper. We joined a class that Lyell was teaching. Wesley was by far the worst behaved dog in the class. He was disruptive and we had a very hard time controlling him. We were sure that he would be dismissed from the class. Lyell not only didn't give up on him, but she went above and beyond with him. She took him from us several times during class, still while teaching, to work with him. She spent extra time with him after class. She recommended things for us to try at home. She even offered to come to our home. If it wasn't for Lyell showing us what to do with Wesley, I'm not sure we would have been able to keep him. I am proud to say Wesley is now a completely different dog. I can not thank Lyell enough. She had so much patience and actually took Wesly on as a challenge, and did not give up on him, when I think most people would have. I would definitely recommend Lyell as a dog trainer. She is excellent at what she does!
John is amazing! He has a passion for animals and you can see it when he's with them. I love his positive attitude and his willingness to go the extra mile.
Katy and Mitch were great, dependable, love animals and are very accommodating. We needed a dog sitter for (4) large dogs for 1 week while out of the country. They came to the property and checked on them at least 1 x day to ensure they were safe, had food and water and played with them a bit. Katy even took the extra step to clean up clay that the dogs had brought into the cabin when they came inside to sleep at night. I will definitely be using them again and recommend their services. Very reasonable cost.
As a new resident to Tennessee, I was very apprehensive about finding someone brand new to take care of my four animals (two cats and two dogs) while I am traveling out of town. Luckily, I found Jill through Thumbtack and found my new pet sitter for life. Jill is an avid animal lover which immediately put my mind at ease. Upon her initial visit to my house, Jill sat down on the floor and patiently waited to gain my skidish dog's trust. While I was away, Jill kept in contact with me and updated me on how her visits went. She even went above and beyond what I hired her for and straightened up my kitchen! She didn't just the dogs out and leave, she stayed for a while and spent time with them, allowing them to play and get to know her better. Jill is an amazing care giver to animals and really put my mind at ease while I was away. I am so lucky to have found her. I highly recommend her and if anyone wants to talk to me more about my experience, feel free to contact me.
Lura showed great intuition and care with my dog. She was kind and gentle which was important because my dog had dementia and was often anxious and disoriented. I would trust Lura with any animal and I refer her to others a lot.
We called Best in Breed Dog Training the week after we rescued Nellie when she was 13 weeks old. Found under a car, she was scared, hungry and really wanting to be loved. Calling Chris was the best decision we ever made after taking Nellie in to our home because he taught us the proper way to raise and train a dog. With Best in Breed we were taught simple and effective training tools that helped Nellie become part of our pack. I really think EVERY dog owner should train with Best in Breed!
Sarah did a good job taking care of my dogs and cats while I was out of town. I would highly recommend. Very friendly and professional. Was really passionate about making sure the animals were taken care of.
I never have to worry about anything when Laurel takes care of the dogs. You can really tell she loves her job and puts the animals first. The house is always cleaner than we left it and the daily updates are amazing! I would recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter!
We were so pleased to return from an almost month-long trip to find our beautiful cat well-groomed and perky. It was obvious she was well-cared for by Caroline during our absence, and we are very grateful to her. We also recommend her highly as she is very consciencous about the animal's well-being and even spends time playing with them! She provided more than we expected! Schera & Ted Lollis
