- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There's a lot that goes in to figuring out your custom photography package, but, generally, one hour sessions start at ~$150 (one location, one outfit, up to 4 people, and a disc of retouched photos), and weddings begin at ~$350/hour (2 photographers, one location, and a disc of photos). Engagement sessions run like one hour sessions, but if you book engagement photos and wedding photos with me, there are special prices all around. (Factors that affect your session price are outfit changes, travel, number of locations, whether you'd like physical prints as well, levels of retouching, number of people involved in the session, etc.)
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Photography is a hobby that I grabbed onto in college, and then it grabbed on to me. I haven't been able to shake a desire to take better and more beautiful pictures ever since.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A couple asked me to do a session for them because, like most people, they hadn't had pictures taken since their wedding. They surprised me by letting me in on a secret: they wanted baby announcement photos! I was the first person they told. I worked to find them a beautiful location-- the side of the highway, of all places, covered in daffodils; and I consider the photos I got that day some of my best.
