I highly recommend Music City Pet Sitting! I needed a last minute pet sitter because one of my cats suddenly needed medication given every day and we didn't feel comfortable with just anyone looking after them when we went out of town. They did an amazing job and came by the day before I had to leave town for me to sign papers and meet my cats. Danielle was so nice and professional and made me feel very comfortable leaving my cats in the care of her and the other sitters. I love that I received an email every day detailing the visit and confirming my cat got his medication, water was given, food was refreshed, etc. And they added pictures of the cats to these emails! I came home to 2 happy and healthy cats. I will 100% be using MCPS again soon.

Laurie met with me and my dogs, and I felt immediately that she was a perfect fit. She is conscientious, thoughtful, and stays in contact with texts and pictures. I feel like my dogs are in very good hands! I was nervous as my other pet sitter had watched the dogs for close to ten years; she has had a baby, and I needed someone new while I was on vacation. Laurie has completely eliminated my anxieties, and I will definitely use her again.

We moved to Brentwood, TN and immediately needed a dog sitter. I used Thumbtack and Janet was the first to respond. We used her this weekend and she was great. I received updates with pictures from every visit. Janet is loving to the dogs and her prices are reasonable. So happy we found her.

The pet sitters at Bohemian Catsody are the best. I travel a lot for work and they have always taken wonderful care of my 3 kitties when I am gone. I come home to happy, contented cats who have clearly gotten lots of care and attention. And when I was called out of town for a family emergency, they went above and beyond to take care of my pets until I could get back. Add to that the fact that their prices are reasonable and their love of cats is obvious and you have on completely satisfied cat momma.

I had an amazing experience with Hotsy! She took great care of my pup, cats, and home. I was so happy to have the chance to let my animals stay at home rather than boarding them. Hotsy sent photos and updates every day while I was on vacation, and I can definitely tell that they got a lot of attention while I was away. We can’t wait to have Hotsy stay again in June!

Nikki's understanding of animal behavior is unimaginable, and her ability to teach people how to have a more enjoyable relationship with their dog is far beyond comprehension. My wife and I had Nikki come out to our home and teach us how to work with our German Shepherd puppy, Veda. Nikki's lessons are straight to the point, and the results are evident immediately. She is a huge proponent of not "over commanding" your dog. To hear it from Nikki, she'd tell you that you shouldn't have to constantly tell your dog what to do (or what NOT to do)...your dog should know what is expected and just do it without a command. To alot of people that sounds daunting, if not laughable, as a training method. You can laugh or shrug off that line of thinking if you want, but we're here to tell you that it works! Dog dragging you down the street on your "walk"? Nikki will fix it! Dog jumping at the door to greet visitors? Nikki will fix it! Ever feel like you're not the one in charge? Nikki will fix it! Quit reading the Leerburg site wondering about prong collars. Quit wasting your hard earned money at Petsmart and Petco on their clicker classes where you make the funny noises to distract the dog from what it's focusing on. Call Nikki. Tell her what's going on with your pet. Setup an appointment, and start enjoying your relationship with your pet (and other humans in the house) again. Her abilities with animals and their owners will change the dynamic in your house in a very short period of time. It does cost a little bit more than those other training classes...but the results are far better in our opinion.

Kerry did a great job with my lab mix. She spent the time with her and played with the Kong toy until she dropped. She made sure the dog are, and I felt very comfortable leaving her in the hands of Kerry. Kerry did everything right, and I appreciate it!

Lee Ann, is an incredible person. I have used her while on vacation and for general daily walking of my dog. She's honest, trustworthy, and extremely dependable. She has a real connection with my dog, you can see it when they greet each other. I have owned dogs for 20 years and I've never found somebody more reliable, fair and committed then Lee Ann and I so appreciate her professionalism.

          About

My services are usually much cheaper than those of my fellow pet-caretakers and house-sitters. Rather than sit and watch your pet from afar, I try to be active and show them affection while their owner is away.

          About

I can provide you with reliable service for house/pet sitting with a sense of calm assurance that your pet will be cared for with love and all subsequent needs of the house maintained during your time away from home. Besides my love of animals, I am a very responsible person. I follow directions well and am a good communicator. I have reliable transportation and the ability to be in good contact by text, phone, or email. Pets are members of the family too and deserve more than someone to just check on them. My service will include lots of friendly interactions with your pet to help make them not feel lonely or sad while you are gone.

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

          • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
          • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
            • 45-minute visit: $28.
            • 60-minute visit: $32.
          • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
          • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
            • 12 hours: $100.
            • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
