Introduction
I am currently teaching online with Zoom for the majority of my students. If you are interested in online lessons, all you need to get started is a computer and a fast internet connection. In-person lessons are by appointment at my studio at Fork's Drum Closet. I work as a professional musician and I teach drum lessons most afternoons. Many years of working full time as a musician (touring & in the recording studios) has given me a unique perspective that many teachers don't have. There's nothing like experience to make you good at what you do. I've been playing drums since the age of 9, and I started teaching drum lessons when I was in high school. I started the teaching program at The Memphis Drum Shop in the mid-80s, and have been at Fork's Drum Closet in Nashville since 1996. I've been very lucky to make a living doing what I love, and it's a joy to pass my knowledge on to others. I've watched a number of my students become fantastic musicians, and some are very successful! (examples: Cody Dickinson-North Mississippi Allstars; George Sluppick- The Chris Robinson Brotherhood; Marshall Richardson- Jo Dee Messina; Billy Thomas- Vince Gill; Jamin Orrall- Be Your Own Pet/Jeff the Brotherhood; Steve Gorman- Black Crowes)

Our son's in his 3rd year with Steve Ebe and we offer the highest recommendation whether you're an adult looking to elevate your skills or a parent seeking instruction for your child.  Our son has benefited from Steve's structured lessons and he's made meaningful progress learning how to analyze songs and musically support them, how to read music, and the ongoing development foundational techniques for hands & feet often glossed over by most drum teachers. Our son has specific learning disabilities. While Mr. Ebe has always been attentive to what he needs in order to learn, we've appreciated how our son has been held to the same high expectations teachers should hold for any student. Since our son began lessons, his grades in school have improved, he's more independent, and he's learned the importance of showing up on time and prepared.  For what it's worth, I'm a professional drummer and studied under top level teachers in Chicago, North Texas State with Ed Soph, and Los Angeles with Jake Hannah (Tony Bennett)  and Denny Seiwell (Paul McCartney). My reason for mentioning this is because the delivery of curriculum I see coming home for my son is equal and/or superior to the teachers I've previously experienced.
