Chris Collier is a music star in the making. Every aspect of dealing with him was a delight. He was very responsive to all queries prior to the event. He checked out the venue prior to the event for his own assessment. He provided a song list which was better than we could have doing it ourselves. On the day of the event he and his team showed up as early as 2pm for a 6pm event, to setup and test everything. When we came to the venue at 6pm everything was setup and ready to go. The music they provided was just superb. The dinner music was light and enjoyable, followed by dance music which had our guests dancing till 10 pm. The band played extraordinary music for four hours, at the end of which they were still willing to play more. I highly recommend Chris. Just a joy to work with and an excellent quality musician. Get him before he becomes too big to hire!Nov 18, 2019Verified
My son Liam truly enjoys his classes with Chis Coiler. Chris has been teaching Liam for over a year now. His musical knowledge and ability to teach young kids is amazing. He is a true professional and keeps Liam excited and eager to learn at every class. We would strongly recommend Chris as a music teacher. GerardJun 22, 2020
Chris is an excellent teacher. He has really helped me achieve a newfound joy in music through guitar. I am constantly impressed by his knowledgeable, calculated, and individualized instruction paired with his gentle, gracious disposition. I especially love the balance he helps me find between technical skills that have helped me be successful in starting from scratch with the instrument while also helping me to be musical, have fun, and focus in on the guitar player that I want to be.May 15, 2020
Chris is an amazing guitar instructor and an even better guitarist! He makes lessons fun, he’s very approachable, and he’s great at explaining everything from nailing riffs to musical theory. His versatility is impressive and he genuinely wants to teach songs that fit my interests which keep me engaged and excited to practice between lessons. He sends handouts, recordings of our lessons, and sums up what I should practice which has been immensely helpful. I’ve asked Chris for advice between sessions and he goes above and beyond by sending back videos breaking down my question. His ear is amazing and he gives great advice on how to improve and how to get to the next level. You can tell that guitar is his passion, which is contagious. I would recommend Chris to anyone on any level- whether you’re trying to polish up your skills or you’re a complete beginner!Jun 22, 2020
Chris is very helpful and informative. I feel like I’ve learned more in one lesson than a month learning on my ownJun 18, 2020Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My rates are as follows: 30 min: $25 45 min: $35 60 min: $45 I do charge for day-of cancellations. If I am unaware of your cancellation before the day of your lesson, you still need to pay me. If the student notifies me before the day of your lesson, there is absolutely no obligation to pay.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Work with the client to create a curriculum that develops fundamentals needed to move in the direction of the students goals. A student may say: "I want to play like John Mayer!", and I will lead them towards that by supplementing the material the student works on with theory, technical exercises and real musical transcriptions that will lead the student towards a well-rounded arrival at their goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a B.M. in Commercial Music from Belmont University. I studied commercial guitar for 4 years, working on every style from country to jazz to show tunes and more. I have also performed professionally in Nashville for the past 4 years, traveling the United States (as well as Scotland!) playing with country bands, playing in the pits for musicals, working with local pop artists and doing jazz gigs.
