Our regular cleaner had to cancel this last minute and Starlight came in to save the day. They responded to me within 10 minutes at 7 in the morning and found someone to clean the house by 10. He was incredibly detailed and took his time with the house and made it spotless for our showing. We are super thankful for them and they were incredible to us.

I had a very disappointing experience with Starlight Cleaning, mainly because of the lack of clear communication and professionalism around their pricing and cancellation/rescheduling policy. I booked them through Thumbtack for an Airbnb cleaning. When we discussed the job, payment, access to the property, and even the possibility of changing arrangements, I was never told that canceling or rescheduling within a certain time period would result in a $60 fee. There was no clear disclosure of this fee during our conversation or when the appointment was being arranged. My Airbnb guests unexpectedly extended their stay, so I contacted Starlight to cancel the next day’s cleaning and told them I would likely need to reschedule for early the following week. Only then was I informed that I owed a $60 rescheduling fee. What made the situation even more frustrating was the inconsistent information. The first message said they require at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule without a fee. When I questioned why this had never been communicated to me, I was then told their website says fees apply with less than 48 hours’ notice. Which is it, 24 hours or 48 hours? They also told me that the cleaning could only be rescheduled after the $60 fee was paid. That made me feel like I was being held hostage over a policy and fee that had never been clearly disclosed to me when I booked the service. If a business has a cancellation or rescheduling fee, that’s their choice, but customers should be clearly told about it before they agree to book, especially when the service itself is already expensive. Simply saying afterward that the policy is somewhere on a website is not the same as clearly communicating it during the booking process. I will not be using Starlight Cleaning again. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering them ask for all charges, cancellation fees, rescheduling fees, and required notice periods in writing before booking so there are no surprises later.
