FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is not really complicated just different than most in my industry. I utilize the flat fee rate. i have a base price that covers the minimal time and privileged information offered to a client and we build from there. Once the fee is agreed upon it is accompanied with a description of how many meetings and revisions that fee encompasses. And each includes pre production time as well as the day of and strike of the event. The staff is based on your guest count, in addition to my self and my event producer, it is one staff member per 50 guests, plus 2.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
24/7! Event design is constantly changing! Such as the world of fashion which most all things tasteful, relevant and contemporary follow suite! Music influences what we do, social media, films, theater, the written word, current affairs, it all reflects the way in which we entertain and celebrate. We participate in conferences, professional organizations, read up on trends domestically and internationally. It is of great importance that we stay current and ahead of the curve. Being able to spot the new trends and give them a prescence in our design is key to our standing out! It is equally important to understand where traditions and trends began. History and heritage is so important to all of us. Reaching back helps us to create new traditions to set before our furture families. This is where relevance comes to play when considering elements of design. Maybe we kick back to a certain era and portray the way the victorians entertained or danced! Work that in with a contemporary twist and wa-la! A new trend is born! And you have the legacy to share it!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
From the time I was old enough, I was redecorating any space I was left in long enough. Always a dreamer and creator of mischief - my love of art and theatrics, and wa-la! It was brought to my attention early on that I would be making people happy and entertained as my life's work! My natural creative talent was obvious and my education to hone my craft and mold my professional character shortly followed. Always with great ambition I surrounded myself with great talent and absorbed all they had to teach me.
