About
**Online Lessons Only**Hi! My name is Emmy Law. I've been teaching piano, guitar, and ukulele lessons to adults and children since 2010. I specialize in the classical, pop, and worship genres. Students get a blend of ear training, note reading, theory, and playing and singing if desired. At the end of each lesson, I send a very detailed email with all the notes from the lesson. I'm always available by text or email. I offer two recitals a year, and they’re a lot of fun! *The first lesson is free*
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Georgia with concentrations in piano and voice in 2010. I also earned my Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification and student taught high school chorus in 2012.
In 2010, I began teaching in Gainesville, GA where I developed a thriving private studio. In 2016, I moved to Atlanta where I taught lessons and pursued a career as a songwriter and performer. While in Atlanta, one of my songs was voted as Immersive Atlanta’s Best Local Songs of 2019. Between 2021 and 2023, a few of my original songs were placed on Spotify Editorial Playlists.
I moved to Nashville in February of 2021 and have been very active in the local songwriting scene. As a teacher, I firmly believe in tailoring each lesson to the student’s unique aspirations and learning style. I give students a good base of theory that they can take into any genre, and help the student develop an ear for playing freely without sheet music. I'm very passionate about guiding the student to finding their love of music. Love working with adults and children. The goal is to have FUN while accomplishing our goals!

My daughter always looked forward to pianolessons with Emmy! Emmy was very efficient, encouraging and cheerful which made lesson time a joy. She helped my daughter to develop a greater love for playing the piano which I am very thankful for!

My 9-year-old son absolutely loves his in-person guitar lessons with Emmy! She makes learning fun, and he always looks forward to his next lesson. I’m so pleased with how much he has learned and how well he’s playing! Emmy is a wonderful teacher, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for guitar lessons. 10 out of 10!

Emmy sends a email following each lesson to help me keep track of my weekly learning goals, from scales to chords as well as my individual pieces. She also writes a detailed summary of my lesson from her point of view. Her teaching approach keeps me motivated to keep trying.

Both of my girls took pianolessons from Ms. Emmy for 5+ years and I was very pleased with there progress all along. They had many recitals and there skills were amazing. I highly recommend Ms. Emmy to teach every one that wants to learn an instrument no matter what the age. She is highly qualify and knowledgeable in this subject.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For families with two students, the total lesson cost is $30 for each 30 minute lesson (so $60 total).
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For each new student, we do a trial lesson. During this lesson, we get to know each other and discuss goals. It's a lot of fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Georgia, with concentrations in piano and voice. I also earned my Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification and student taught high school chorus. I had my own studio of students for four years in Gainesville, GA from 2012 to 2016. I held two recitals each year and took my students to Festival, a piano and voice competition. While living in Atlanta from 2016 to 2020, I gained experience working for two music studios in addition to teaching students privately.
