Al was a pleasure to work with. His attention to detail was above and beyond expectations. Several contractors had turned down the job due to the complexity of staining the top slats, but Al got it done and it looks great! I couldn't be happier with the finished product.

Al was great to work with. He had a more complicated deck refurbishing project with us. We had half of the deck that was new, and half that was 20 years old and stained with black paint. Al worked diligently to get the old black paint off by power-washing and sanding severe parts. He patched holes and and added screws where necessary. The deck turned out beautifully and looks brand new. It took longer than expected but ONLY because a few days after Al started our job it rained for nearly 2 weeks straight and we couldn't catch a break!
Al was very easy to work with. He has a an exceptional work ethic and keen eye when it comes to "attention to detail".
He is easy to get along with and never seem irritated or exasperated when asked to do something a little differently than what we wanted. He was always happy to do it and went above and beyond to do so.
I will be employing Al again for a few other projects we have in our home in the future. No hesitation whatsoever.

I highly recommend Al Clemmons to do your deck staining job. I hired Al after I contacted 3 different providers, Al was the most knowledgeable and dedicated to the job. I hired Al to fix my screened door. It's a beautiful, custom wood door in an historic home. It needed the attention of a craftsman and Al certainly fit the bill. He creatively worked to a solution and the finished product was beautiful and well done. The door is repaired and strengthened and will give me many more years of constant use.

Al was very dependable. He repaired a table for us and I could not believe how quickly he did the job for us. He picked up the table one morning and had the job completed by the next afternoon. He was professional and knowledgeable. He fixed our table up where now it should hold up for years to come.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is not very complicated however, some jobs are more labor intensive than others and others require more time and skill.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
typical process is to meet with prospective customer to discuss the requirements of the job and depending on the work to be done, I will either put together a bid estimate/quote or give an hourly rate. Once a price has been agreed upon, I will produce a contract spelling out all details, in order to alleviate any issues or disagreements over the agreed upon scope of work. I require a 50% down payment to cover materials and other expenses, then I accept the remainder, once my customer is 100% satisfied that the work has been completed, and meets or exceeds their expectations.

I constantly seek new methods and ways to improve. I am both a mentor and apprentice but always a student
