K.D. Music Studio
Introduction
Piano Lessons at K.G. Piano Studios really stand out! There are two priorities for music lessons at K.G. Piano Studios.
One is that lessons must be fun.
Two is that lessons will provide a well-rounded understanding of music.
These priorities are accomplished through several aspects.
First lessons do not have a set curriculum. Instead the student decides what music he or she wants to learn. All the teacher does is decide how the challenging that music should be, and what learning pace would fit best for you. The teacher judges this based on years of experience of teaching. Even the pace however can be flexible, depending on the pace the student will want to take. I do like to challenge and push students however to perform at their best level.
Secondly, the teacher will not go forward with the lesson, until sure that the student understands what is being taught.
Here are some of the things that K.G. Piano Studios will teach that sets it apart from other piano lessons.
I have more than 10 years of experience teaching at schools, centers, private lessons to students of all ages (and still love what I do!)
I have a large student load (most of my students are not through Thumbtack) so especially during recitals, competitions...etc., students feel that learning piano is a community experience
Music theory
Music history
Learning music by sheet music
AND learning to play by ear
I can also teach composition
I provide access to competitions, festivals and theory tests.
We normally have two recitals a year.
What I like most about my job is spreading the passion of music to whoever I can.
Many times music is look at as something expendable when it comes to education, but it is vital.
It not only helps students learn how to express themselves emotionally, but helps them in the areas of math and science.
It also helps expand their memories and attention to detail.
It may not look it, but any one who performs music on a routine basis will know that it is also a physical work out!
Lastly, it develops patience, endurance and discipline.
The ancient Greeks, one of the smartest cultures of the past, knew this, and therefore required all of their high class citizens to learn music.
