Simon was amazing! He did our wood floors and they look absolutely gorgeous. He always asked our opinion when something wouldn't be perfect and told usthe best option. He fixed any imperfection and always arrived on time. He stayed all day and really put his best work into every day. He would have help on some days but for the most part he did it by himself. My Fiancé and I will continue to use Simon for any home improvements we need, we highly recommend Simon!

I needed to have old floors (mix of laminate, tile, and carpet), and back-splash taken out and have new laminate floors and black-splash installed.
The service Simon provided me was outstanding. Overall, he did a great job from start to finish. I am not only pleased with the quality and craft of service Simon provided, but he did so for a more than fair and affordable price, with the utmost care and respect for me and my house. Although Simon is still young, he is the type of contractor you hope forsomeone who is honest, trustworthy, takes pride in his craft, flexible and accommodating, and just an overall nice guy.
I was a bit apprehensive when I started this project because I am relatively new to the city, just purchased my first home with my husband (while he is serving in the military overseas). I was worried about being overcharged, and taken advantage of. I met Simon after meeting 4 other contractors, and I immediately knew he was the guy I was looking for. He gave a great competitive and detailed quote. He was very straightforward with the work that would need to be done, without trying to up-sell me (like some of the other contractors).
As some of the other reviews have mentioned, Simon has help on some days, but typically does all of the work himself. While he doesn't have a large team, the timeline Simon offered was comparable to other contractors that had larger teams (who might or might not have been trying to up-sell me with other work that was unnecessary) all while without cutting any corners, and maintaining quality work.
I had some bad luck with the delivery of the laminate (not related to Simon) that got delayed by two weeks, but Simon was very patient and accommodating the whole way through. The original plan was to have a 3-week timeline to get everything done before move-in, but the delay with the laminate delivery caused the timeline to be shorten to a few days before move-in. In response, Simon worked extra hard for the first two days to get my living room and master room completed so I could move in to a livable space. Simon was thoughtful, and cared enough to do what he could to help me. He's the anti-thesis of the stereotypical contractors that just care about getting paid.
Simon went above and beyond, and I now have beautiful new floors and kitchen back-splash. I highly recommend Castilleja Surface Solutions, will definitely be keeping in contact with him for any other future jobs.
