If there was a way to give Juan a 4.9 rating instead of a 4 or 5, I would do that. TLDR; excellent work ethic, fair & reasonable pricing. Good work and stable installation but ultimately, the project ended up crooked, which Juan was disappointed about AND apologized for. Juan and his partner were very communicative, had great dispositions and worked extremely hard. The project was installing a smart dog door to be mounted in the wall. The dog door is intended for door installation, so I bought the wall installation kit recommended by the company. Juan read the instructions and problem solved where the project could be installed. There were three attempts (just sketches and traces) of where the door could be installed, but all had some obstacle in the way (studs, outlets, etc.). Juan was able to install the door at my decided location. He had to rearrange some electric wires and cut through a stud for that placement. This project was becoming more arduous than we originally thought. His partner cleaned up as they went along, which was great! Throughout the project, they collaborated with me when necessary. When they were finished, I saw that it was crooked and pointed it out. Juan realized, explained that there was more to the project than he thought, having to attach more to the studs so that the door could be stable. He apologized for the crookedness. I could tell he felt bad and tried to make up for it by lowering the price. The project was more than he (and I) expected, but he did a good job with reasonable empathy for the customer. I do believe Juan will be more careful in his future projects and I do recommend him.

They installed a dog door that was sloppy at best Left basically a hole in the wall with exposed nails that could hurt my dogs Would not come back to repair so I had to call and pay another company to replace and repair the work unfinished. Also - he replaced my patio doors and left the old ones in the backyard Did not clean up construction debris so I had to call a company to come get all that as well. They are trying to make this about money but I paid everything within one day of completion with the understanding that he would come out to repair some of the areas of concern but then he cancelled and never came back. There are better companies out there.
