The old saying that "you get what you pay for" could not be more true. We hired the Ortegas because their bid came in several thousand dollars less than others. However, after multiple delays and shoddy work when it came to spraying my cabinets, I wish we'd paid more for someone else. They claim that they had a hard time spraying because our kitchen is so small, but they saw the size of the kitchen when they came out to bid. If you can't do the work in that space, don't bid it. Also they did not protect my new tile floors well enough, and we had to spend $200 to have the grout re-stained because they got paint in the grout. If you have a small project, like maybe just the walls of a room, I wouldn't hesitate to hire them because they admittedly did do a really good job with drywall and paint on the walls. But I would never hire them to do cabinets. They quoted me on sprayed cabinets, they sprayed the cabinets twice, there were still marks on them (fingerprints? smudges?) and they ended up having to roller the paint on. Rolled paint does not look as good as sprayed paint. We're probably the only ones that will notice it, but still, I wasn't thrilled. But after two weeks of our house smelling like paint thinner, I just wanted them to be done and gone. They get three stars because of the good work painting my walls and ceiling, but the cabinet painting was a disaster from start to finish.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been around painters my whole life alot of my family members are painters my cousin works at Benjamin Moore so I think I have more than enough experience to do any jobs that come up.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a kid I would go to work with my dad and really like to see him working. Then I got older and started working with him over the summer vacations. I got pretty good at painting and wanted to keep doing it if I didn't get a chance to go to college.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We do all kinds of painting jobs but the most common job is refinishing kitchen cabinets.
