James S. says, "We have a 20+ year-old clothes dryer that was making an unbearably loud noise. Operating under the dictum of, "If you fix an old appliance, it may be fixed for now, but it's still old and likely to break again," we opted for a new dryer. We ordered a $1000+ Whirlpool from Best Buy, but it was back ordered several weeks out and the delivery date kept getting pushed back. We then went another route: An off-brand dryer from Lowe's that arrive damaged and non-functional. But our biggest problem was that the old dryer was trapped by a door frame that was added after it was installed. It was an effective, though admittedly funky bit of carpentry, requiring a complicated removal process. That's when we got in touch with Alex from AA Appliance Repair in Georgetown. He didn't flinch at the 40-mile drive required to reach our home and he made an appointment with us for the following afternoon. He arrive right on schedule and immediately put booties on his shoes before entering the house. That's when things really got interesting: Because of the aforementioned trapped-dryer issue, it wasn't possible to remove it for the repair. So, Alex got creative. He managed to wrestle off the top and the front of the appliance, jack up the drum and replace both drum wheels, all within a really tight space that required him to twist and turn his body into very uncomfortable positions! It was difficult and sweat-producing work, but Alex refused to stop until the job was done! I can say without hesitation that it was among the absolute best experiences I have ever had with a repair situation!"See more
