My attention to detail and commitment to quality is a cut above the vast majority of those working in my field. I approach each client's home as if it were my own. I just like what I do. It's my chosen field of endeavor - that is, I pursued a career in carpentry/building/general contracting - I didn't just "fall into it" from some other job. I'm constantly reading up on the latest products, materials, techniques and methodologies. Methinks it's in my bones and in my DNA.

Alex is great! My girlfriend and I needed help putting up an Elfa hanging system after hitting some unknown objects behind the drywall and my not feeling comfortable about the weight bearing features of my hanging job. Alex came in to save the day. "Fear not! I'm a wizard with Elfa systems!" he said on the phone. Well -- I'm happy to say it's true! He not only mounted the shelving system in far less time than we could have done it, he also did it in a manner that I don't feel worried about the 500lbs (not an exaggeration) of books that are stacked on the shelves. Additionally he helped us hang some heavier pieces of art and get some awkward things into hard to reach places. While these things are mostly things we could have done ourselves, he did them better than we could have and faster. We knocked out a number of items in 2 hours and his fee was well worth it. I wish I had called him before drilling a bunch of unfortunate holes in the wall that were not only un-necessary but also placed wrong. Alex is professional and easy going. I saw pictures of his work online and wish I had some larger projects for him to work on. When I move, I'll be calling Alex again.

Great work. He had some great ideas/vision for building custom shelves and a desk for me, but I ended up doing a little DIY and using some things I already had (due to budget). I still had him do a few small jobs for me (replacing doorknobs, etc), which he did quickly and efficiently. I'd love to use him (and his carpentry skills and great vision/ideas) for bigger jobs down the road (kitchen remodel!) when my budget allows.

Alex does a great job. I had him out to install a ceiling fan and an outdoor light fixture. His quote was more than reasonable, his work very efficient and both items look and work perfect! He did not waste my time either discussing the quote or doing the work. Very prompt and responsive.

Reading mostly with an occasional workshop.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked construction during the summers through high school. After I graduated, I continued working as a carpenter to support my wife while she finished college, and then after she graduated, I started going to LSU and paid for my education working as a carpenter. Over the years I've done large commercial projects and large high-end custom homes. I've since downsized and enjoy doing smaller projects and carpenter/handyman work.
