About
Watson & Company Handiworks has grown out of the small business spirit which runs in Chris Lanier's family. He grew up around the shop of his grandfather's business, Lanier Plumbing in Lake Charles, LA. Chris learned the importance of hard work and determination while on the "dumb end of a shovel" as his father, Rickey Lanier would put it. One of the things I love most about the handyman business is that I get to help people in a very direct and active way, and see the positive impact that I can make on their lives. Finishing a project, from a small furniture assembly job to outfitting an entire office, is always a satisfying experience!

We hired Chris to clean out and fix our clogged filter/vent in our dryer. He was very responsive and worked with our schedule. He arrived on time and got right to work fixing the problem. Chris was courteous, professional and did a great job getting our dryer back in working order. He also cleaned up everything and blew extra leaves off the roof while he was up there. He went above and beyond. I will definitely be hiring him again.

He showed up on time and did exactly what I wanted: ripped out a shelf. Then he helped patch the holes and cleaned up. Great experience! Highly recommend.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After making initial contact with a client, I typically run through a few questions to make sure I understand the scope and scale of the work they're looking to get done. If I feel the project is outside of my skill set, I'm more than happy to refer them to a vendor I feel will take good care of them! If its something I know I can tackle, I'll find out what their timeline for getting the work completed is, and their scheduling availability. On the day we schedule the job, I'll show up to meet the client, have them walk me through the task list, I'll ask any follow-up questions, and get to work! Upon completion of each task I give the client the opportunity to review the work and then move to the next task. After everything has been completed to the client's satisfaction, I'm able to process payment on-site or via invoice.
