Mombo packers and movers
Starting on a positive note, they were available and easy to book and they showed up on time. Unfortunately, that was where the good experience ended.
My goal was to move an old piano across town and, ideally, up a flight of challenging stairs. In retrospect, I should have hired piano moving specialists because this proved more difficult than even I anticipated. First, they came with 3 men, which was not enough to actually lift the piano into/out of the truck "because it was too heavy" (they asked for assistance from others to help them). Yeah, it's a piano -- that's why I hired movers . They also attempted to roll the piano on the original (very small and old) wheels. Well, one wheel got caught on a crack in the sidewalk and literally broke off the entire piano leg. Thankfully, it was not a "load-bearing" leg, but we still needed to repair it. They also struggled with how best to move the piece and bystanders had to tell them, for example, to use the dolly and which way to move it. things they should, as "professional" movers should know.
Finally, when we got to the location, they took one look at the stairs and said, no we can't move it there. I guess that's fair, but that is what I asked for. We did find a place for the piano downstairs. When I asked how much less I owed considering the broken furniture and the fact that it didn't get moved upstairs, he told me to decide for myself. I told him an amount that I thought was fair and he came back with "That's too much off, pay me a bit more." (like this was bargaining). Ultimately, I did pay the amount he requested to be done with it, but I would not use them again and, frankly, it makes me weary to use Thumbtack at all for future projects, despite its ease
