We were doing a short, local move and are so happy we came across Butter Brothers! They were communicative and careful while packing and unloading our items. We only needed assistance for larger furniture items and it was a smooth process. My only note is that we were quoted for a 2.5 hour move, told over the phone that it would likely take less than 2 hours, and it ultimately took 3.5 hours, so it ended up being more expensive than anticipated. It was still a reasonable price for the time it took, but if you’re planning I’d budget a little more than expected as a buffer.

I take no pleasure in writing this review, but other customers deserve to know what they may be signing up for before choosing this company. The communication issues should have been my first warning sign. After the initial contact, multiple messages went unanswered. I spoke with someone named Porter, who agreed to arrange a complimentary in-home estimate before finalizing the move. We confirmed the date, timing, furniture, and use of their packing supplies. Then—nothing. No follow-up. I called again and spoke with another representative who assured me the owner would contact me immediately. Again, nothing. The next day, I sent a message asking for a response or, at minimum, confirmation that they could not take the job so I could hire someone else. Only then did I receive a reply requesting photos because they no longer had time for an in-home estimate. Fine. I sent the photos, received an estimate, and booked the move. On moving day, two movers arrived and worked quickly. Unfortunately, speed seemed to come at the expense of care. Aside from disassembling a single bed, much of the packing was done poorly. I repeatedly had to ask them to wrap artwork properly to prevent frame damage—they didn’t, and several frames were scratched. I had to remind them to add extra protection to lampshades—they didn’t, and one lampshade is now bent and ruined in multiple places (nightstand chipped, many boxes with no labels - I shudder at the condition awaiting discovery as I continue unpacking), . I also had to remind them to label boxes. No heed. The final straw came after move-in. The bed screws from the only piece of furniture they disassembled were missing. At 9:00 p.m. last night, after an exhausting day of unpacking, we had to send helpers to Home Depot to find replacement hardware just so the bed could be reassembled. At this point, I’m still unpacking and have no interest in waiting to discover what else may have been damaged, misplaced, or overlooked. This experience was frustrating from start to finish, especially because I chose this company based on its reviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect those ratings. Beware.
