I have been learning guitar from Jake for the last 6 months. That was the first time, I have placed my hands on guitar. He is extremely patient in teaching and works at your pace to make sure you are comfortable playing the instrument. I highly recommend him for beginners.

Jake's approachable vibe puts a nervous beginner like me instantly at ease! My lessons are always fun and productive, and I walk away excited to practice. He makes learning exciting by breaking down your favorite songs and offering unique tricks to simplify concepts. Can't recommend him highly enough!

About this pro

Farr Guitar Studio helps beginning and plateaued guitarists breakthrough difficult concepts with "musical immersion." While most studios only offer basic lessons, FGS uses a combination of private instruction, performance classes, jam sessions, and studio exclusive concerts, you will become fluent in the musical language. Tough question, I might have to pick two! My first favorite part about teaching music is breaking down complex techniques and concepts into an easy step by step progressions. I know, I'm a nerd. My second is when I see my studio members sharing music with each other, jamming, or listening to a great musician on a Saturday night!

    Q & A

    • How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was mentored by the world renowned guitarist, teacher, and composer, David Brandon. Not only is he a great musician but he is also a great person. David's influence in my life was so strong and positive that I now am now following in his footsteps and running my own private guitar studio.
    • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you get a qualified instructor. Although there are many great guitarists, there are not as many great guitar teachers. Some guitarists only play one style and will limit your educational process based on what they already know how to do. Others really only value performance and only teach to pay the bills. A great teacher will take the time to invest in the musical style you want to play and then teach it to you in a way that is engaging and comprehensive.
    • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I want my customers to know that there is nothing I would rather be doing that sitting in a guitar studio with them and teaching them how to succeed at playing guitar. I love playing the guitar and showing others how to reach their goals in the easiest way.
