Beau was Johnny on the spot in responding to my nutritionist needs, and I was on the phone structuring a potential meal/workout plan with him only a couple hours after my request. He obviously has done this a time or two and is very passionate about his work. He works hard to help you reach your fitness goals, whether this be by customizing each workout for every individual, giving nutrition tips and detailed guides upon request, or managing his schedule to find the times that work for you. Beau is a great trainer for anyone looking to get in shape whether it’s losing weight or building muscle. I struggled for many years to get started with a proper workout routine. Beau builds a routine for you, shows you proper technique, and helps build good habits. I used his hybrid plan which includes both online workouts and meal planning. It was easy to follow and the meal plans were something I truly enjoyed. I struggled with nutrition a lot and having someone teach me the proper diet to go along with the workouts was extremely helpful. I think what makes Beau such a good trainer is his focus on your future. His goal is to give you all the knowledge and tools you need to be successful. I have started to train with Beau for two months since April. Having zero prior experiences with weight training, I was nervous starting lifting weight, but Beau made it very easy and comfortable. Every work out was new to me, but he always kindly and positively taught and corrected my postures so I could get the best results out of it. Indeed, within two months, people started to notice the changes of my body shape. I also had some body composition analyses at Total Nutrition (they have this cool machine and you can do it for free), and I have gained 2.6lbs of muscle mass and lost 5lbs of body fat within three weeks! I also started to feel some pain in my right shoulder during the training, and as soon as I told Beau, he immediately adjusted the training to avoid aggravating the pain. Now I know what posture would trigger the pain and am able to avoid it. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?The base price I list is for my "Small Group Sessions," which are 2-4 people and offer a cost-effective way to get personal training. Individual sessions are an option as well, a thought they're much more expensive. I offer packages that incentivize a commitment. The more commitment you make in yourself and me as your trainer, the more likely you are to get the results you want, and the less you pay per session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?The initial session is for gathering background information, talking about their goals, and outlining how we will get there. It also includes a workout to give the client an idea of what training with me entails. Once I get to know the client better and have a concept of their capabilities as well as their goals, I construct a periodized plan for them to see real changes. This plan includes progressing the workout intensity, frequency, and implementing diet changes to best-serve their needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I've been privileged to take classes from very well-respected Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition professors at UC Davis, received Nationally Accredited Certifications in training and advanced nutrition from ACTION, and have hands on experience training myself, collegiate athletes, and clients from a variety of backgrounds.
