Health and Wellness Coaching
I was nervous about getting a trainer but I knew I had to get serious about my health, my choices and my commitment. David has a friendly welcoming personality that puts you at ease and helps answer a lot of questions and worries. He is honest and transparent about goals, being patient with yourself and your body and potential hurdles ...while at the same time reminds you to still have a balance-- working hard while still enjoying life. He isnt an insane military style trainer but he will push you to work hard! I've purchased 2 packages already (multi sessions each pkg) and have learned so much, have gotten leaner, and stronger. Most of all you learn so much about your body, about food awareness and how achievable health, fitness and being fit can be, if you just move & pay attention! Thank you David for all of your guidance, patience, oh and your great sense of humor!Dec 31, 2018Verified
David exceeded my expectations. His natural connection with me made me feel at ease and motivated about taking this next step in my overall health. His knowledge was obvious as he not only talked about the importance of knowing your limitations but by working with me on many options to start my journey to building strength, flexibility while caring for my back issues. I highly recommend David!Aug 11, 2018Verified
I have struggled with diet and exercise most of my life. When I met David, he explained without judgment what I needed to change in my diet to help me achieve weight loss and overall good health. I am a 59 year old female and I know at my age using weights are a necessity for bone strength. David has trained me using weights with proper form and I feel incredible afterwards! Thank you David for sharing your knowledge and passion to help me and so many others reach our goals to live a happy healthy life and have fun doing it!Mar 21, 2018Verified
David is simply a superior trainer, extremely knowledgeable, organized and plans your sessions. He's a tuned in & focused pro - no cell phone peeks, doesn't allow interruptions, knows the subtle games clients use to slow the training session a bit to gain that extra rest (me :-) ); but if David knows you can take it, he just keeps expertly helping you along. He's focused on you, and you alone. If you have a specific goal in mind, he'll get you there; if you don't, he'll get you to your "there." Great man and trainer/coach.Mar 9, 2018Verified
I started personal training with David in January and have made more progress in the past few months than I have in years. I tore my ACL in 2015 and after surgery I never really got back into a consistent strength training routine until now. David has kept me motivated and made me realize that my old injury doesn’t have to be an excuse. The corrective exercises and mini progressions have given me a lot more confidence with how I move now. I haven’t been this active in some time now so it’s been a great experience overall getting back at it.Mar 23, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?First session is free! Following the initial complimentary session, pricing is for (1) hour session and discounts are offered for packages of 6, 12, and 18 sessions. When considering pricing, know that personal training extends far past the in gym session. If you’re looking for a good workout, you can find that with about any competent trainer. Real progress is made when the other 23 hours of the day are taken into account. For me, this means a direct line of contact for questions and support, scripted training for non training days (cardio, recovery, traveling) nutrition counseling (meal planning, grocery lists, macro breakdown) and access to my online platform. My goal is to see you reach your goals and I give every available tool to make that possible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I typically start with some basic questions either over the phone or through email to give me a little background on the client and their needs. This gives me a better idea on how to facilitate their free consultation once we schedule. This complementary session will consist of a movement assessment and a few other screening tools to help build your program. Not only will they get a great workout but also a full understanding of how the program works and what they can expect from the experience. I always leave them with some great takeaways dealing with fitness and nutrition to start implementing immediately even if they don't choose to continue with training.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? For nearly a decade, I've had the opportunity to deliver programs and services to members at my own training studio, Northwest Fitness, corporate gyms, private studios, therapy clinics, and the online community. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University. I have also held numerous nationally accredited training certifications and specializations throughout my career. Most notably through NASM as a Certified Personal Trainer/Corrective Exercise Specialist and StrongFirst as a certified kettlebell instructor. My experience working alongside many influential mentors, coaches, educators, and organizations has been paramount to my success as a business owner and instructor.
