About
I’m an Experience Director and working fine artist who believes installation should capture the essence of how you want to feel in your own space. I don’t just mount your piece, I help you design the experience of it, from the angle you see it walking in, to the way light hits it in the evening, to how your guests encounter it when they visit. Every job is done personally, by me, with the same care I give my own paintings. Fast, precise, and bilingual (English/Spanish).

I was so glad I reached out to this pro on Thumtack — I needed some pictures hung in my new apartment so it wasn’t a big job. But he responded immediately, quoted a fair price, came on time and got the job done perfectly. Many thanks!

Chris was quick with his responses and arrived on time.
He presented his ideas for our gallery walls and consulted with us throughout the process. He did an excellent job of placing and hanging our artwork.
An artistic eye and talented worker.

Cristóbal mounted and arranged the placement of the artwork in the dining room so that they looked like they were in an art gallery. The panels were perfectly flush with the wall and had excellent spacing.
He also offered his services and creative direction to design and paint a mural on the blank wall. When he showed me his vision board, I was taken aback and agreed that his mural would be exactly what the dining room needed.
The photo depicted here is when I hosted a birthday party. I am very fortunate to have Cristóbal make the space beautiful, charming, and welcoming. Highly recommend working with him!!

Hello,
I would like to thank Almanza Cristóbal for doing such a great job! I Honestly couldn’t have done it without Almanza’s help. My husband works all day and I definitely couldn’t have done this job alone..So Thank you so much for all your help.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Clear pricing, no surprises.
Hourly rate: $75/hr, 1-hour minimum.
Flat rates for common jobs:
Single piece installation: $75-100
Gallery wall (4-8 pieces, layout + install): $150-300
Large or heavy mirror mounting: $100-125
Space or layout consult only (no install): $75
Additional fees:
Heavy-duty anchors or specialty hangers: priced at cost, usually $2-10 each depending on the piece
Travel: no charge within the greater Austin area; a small fee applies for jobs further out
I always confirm scope and pricing with you before I start, and anything discovered on-site that changes the job gets discussed with you first, never a surprise on the invoice.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by asking for a few photos of the wall and the pieces you're working with, so I can give you an accurate quote before we ever meet. Once we agree on scope and price, I send a short written agreement covering the job details, then we book a time that works for you. I show up, confirm the plan on-site, and get to work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've spent 18+ years as a design director, most recently leading experience design for enterprise teams, and I'm also a working fine artist with formal training. That background is exactly why I approach a wall differently than a typical installer: I'm trained to think about composition, spatial layout, and how a piece is actually experienced in a room, not just how to drill a level hole.
