Introduction: I have an outstanding educational and writing background. I obtained my Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin in Human Ecology, a program focusing on psychology, statistics, research, and public policy. During my graduate school years, I worked for six years as an undergraduate teaching assistant and writing consultant. In 2011, I went on to obtain my Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law School. In law school, I served for two years on a law journal. I enjoy editing creative, scientific, academic, legal writing, resumes, and curriculum vitaes. I love the experience of working with another author's writing and helping them craft it to make it more cohesive. I also like making suggestions to the reader using the comment feature of track changes. This allows the reader to maintain their autonomy and authorship of pieces. I especially enjoy editing masters theses and doctoral dissertations as I have been in the position of having to write them and know the value of gaining outside feedback from other scholars and academics. I have a long reputation of working with ESL students as well. I'm also a stickler for grammar and enjoy the task of correcting it.

I had the honor of supervising Lisa Steffek when she worked as a writing consultant at the University of Texas Undergraduate Writing Center (UWC), the largest and busiest writing center in the country (with approximately 11,000 visits a year from writers across all disciplines). As Program Coordinator, I was responsible for the day-to-day running of the writing center, including the training and supervision of the consulting and administrative staff. Over the course of the time that she worked there, Lisa conducted 256 forty-five minute one-on-one writing consultations with UT undergraduates. She was a reliable and committed member of our staff, while at the same time impressively maintaining a high GPA and finishing the dissertation for her doctoral program. In addition to her exemplary job performance, she continually delighted me with her lively mind and rare perspective. Her piercing intelligence and sweet nature are a rare combination and set her apart as one of our finest writing consultants. Extremely highly recommended.

I charge $60 an hour, and I am fast and efficient in my work. I take my editing services very seriously. I am always available, free of charge, to answer questions about edits or comments I have made.

I first like to understand what type of writing project or academic area for which the customer is writing. I always ask my clients if there are rules and restrictions to their writing assignment as well as their expectations.
