FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Replacement windows are priced by the "united inch", so it all depends on the size of the window. A good rule of thumb is that an aluminum replacement window will typically cost $50 more a window than vinyl replacement window. Of course, there are ways to get costs down on all windows, and ways to get costs up. It all depends. If you have questions, I encourage you to reach out and I will happily give you some pricing over the phone if you have some ballpark measurements.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started young doing remodels with my dad in the small community we grew up in north of Dallas. Eventually, my dad passed a lot of the purchasing responsibilities off to me and that's when my due diligence phase really began. I've made a point to be extremely deliberate in choosing which manufacturers to work with, and which manufacturers I'll put my name on. Don Young Windows are home-grown, in Texas, made in nearby San Antonio. They produce a window that is specifically engineered for our climate; not for a northern climate. They also maintain a sterling reputation for quality, efficiency, and design. Don Young's thermally-broken aluminum is perfect for those who want a more minimal design without the sacrifice of efficiency. When deciding on window manufacturers I believe in, Vista Window Company hit all the marks. From their lifetime warranty to vast exterior color pallet, Vista has a window in which I feel extreme confidence. It's rare to find a window that leads its class in both efficiency and design, all while keeping a competitive price-point.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The bulk of our business is in replacing old, original, contractor-grade windows and replacing them with our Vista Vinyl Window Series, or our Don Young Vinyl Window Series. We also carry Don Young's thermally broken aluminum line, as well as Andersen's E-Series line. GRACELAND also specializes in Window Treatments (Shades, Shutters, Blinds) and this accounts for about 35% of our business. Our custom wood shutters are made locally, in Austin, and we guarantee a 3-week installation or the installation is free.
