Introduction: Hi, there! My name is Kathryn Gisi. I'm a 500 HR YTT certified yoga teacher in Austin, Texas. My focus is alignment yoga that can be practiced by anyone and everyone. My aim is to simply help you regulate your nervous system through the connection of movement and breath. I love yogic philosophy and literature and would love to incorporate discussion into our physical asana practice, as well, if that's something that interests you. I look forward to meeting you on your mat and connecting with you.

Kathryn is incredible. She takes time at the beginning of every class to ask how we are feeling that day and what we'd like to work on. She then caters her class to meet those needs. Her repertoire of postures and styles is impressive. She has a great sense of humor and welcomes laughter during the class, which is so great. I've been in yoga classes that feel stuffy and counterproductive to what I'm trying to experience, and Kathryn's classes are anything but stuffy or pretentious. I've noticed benefit in my breathing and flexibility and sense of calm even from one day a week with Kathryn. And I'm always sore the next day in muscles I didn't realize I was working. Love!

Kathryn is great at providing verbal cues that let me, an inexperienced "yogi," know what to do to be in the correct pose. She does this in a way that doesn't detract from the peaceful ambiance of the class. She does a good job of challenging her students without making it too much so.
