I contacted multiple contractors for major home renovation in Pearland. Out of all those Juan Perez JLD services stands out. He took his time to explain everything, provided me with places to buy material at wholesale prices and did a great job. He did my wood flooring, tile, carpet, kitchen/bathroom quartz, vanities, garage export, patio tile etc. His whole team is amazing. I am very happy with his services and glad that I found Juan Perez and will definitely used his services in the future. Don’t hesitate to hire him for all your home renovation needs.

Prompt timing, removed spots very well. A couple of extra wet spots & residue on tile floor from hoses that prevented a five star rating. Would use again.

Blast & his team were awesome! He performed numerous jobs for me (tile/floor laminate installation, wall repair, painting, etc...) He continuously provided feedback & offered his expert opinion on several projects....which turned out fantastic. He had no problem deviating from what was initially agreed upon just to please his customer. You definitely won't go wrong choosing his services.

We purchased a brand new home and wanted to replace the tile and carpet in the living areas. We had approximately 1,200 sq ft tiled by Delcid's Painting & More. The entire crew was professional and worked diligently during the entire project. They were always on time and even worked after normal hours to get the job done. Even with all of the other million and one expenses that come with a new home, Delcid's Painting and More was very reasonably priced. And for the work the did, it ended up being a bargain actually. We were very pleased with their tile work that we decided to hire them to paint our walls. The painter was a true professional. He rarely used tape and painted straight lines free hand. Overall, we are very happy it all got done, and within budget! Recommending to family and friends.

I had a small job of putting vinyl tile in a laundry/library room that is about 150 square feet in size. The work was done exactly the way I wanted it and was done on a weekend which helped me out immensely. When I phoned yesterday about the work happening, I was very thrilled that Eduardo said they would come because he had to "make it right." With as much work as everyone has after the hurricane I appreciated this very much. The work was done and the place cleaned throughly before the contractor left my home. Would consider using them for larger jobs if needed in the future. Price was very reasonable.

Job went great, I had Willy remove 1200 sqft of tile, laminate, carpet and vinyl, then install new laminate flooring on the clean slab. The whole time Willy was easy to get ahold of, communicated with us about what was going on, and did an excellent job of installing the floors. We definitely recommend him and we'll definitely use him again in the future.

Everyone I came in contact with at Tell Projects was highly professional, courteous, and patiently answered all my questions during our recent shower remodel. The work was completed on time, exactly as promised, and exactly at the cost quoted. The crew that came to my home were all Tell Projects employees, not outside contractors; and the same crew of plumbers, painters, tile installers and glass installers worked the entire project from start to finish. The finished work is beautiful and we couldn't be happier. I look forward to working with them on my next project.

Amazing work. Not only did I receive the best quote, he did an amazing job. He was detailed in what I needed for the job, picked up my materials, and what he was going to do. He gave me visuals of my options for the tile pattern (direction). He removed my vinyl flooring from the kitchen, moved appliances around as needed, He was clean, his work was clean, did not leave a mess. Very pleased. Saul is courteous and a very good person. Have already referred him, and would hire him again Had a backsplash installed and tile work in the kitchen .

I had hired a contractor from Thumbtack to lay some tile in my bathroom. When he was finished, I went into the bathroom and noticed to horrid job he did with the cutting of the tile around the baseboards! I reached out on Thumbtack once again, and found JC Carpentry to lay some quarter rounds to cover the awful job. He came out and assessed, and we came to a solution. Let me say, he did a FANTASTIC job, was priced just right and was fast!! Thank you so much JC, you have all my future work for finishing carpentry. 😊

Wonderful results! I have a long list of repairs needed, now I found someone that I can rehire! Silvestre is here with baseboards and quarter round due to a laundry overfill, (a 19 yr old part wore-out). my flood occurred the Saturday before the Houston Flood (4-18-2016) and I was in panic for a true carpenter -- to beat the rush. my house does not have a single right angle corner ( old homes in a MUD just don't get fine details) so, all the sheetrock is wacky and Silvestre did an impressive job with getting the corners to look "right". I put out the request on a Thursday, and Silvestre was available for the next day; beautiful work was completed before 5 on Friday. The flood restoration co that is "asthma friendly" and wears yellow and black (local Webster office) was a nightmare! and then, the washer part was not "defective". The baseboards from Brothers Construction Co were simple and stress-free, just how business should be. Silvestre Chavez is amazing, I wish I found him when we bought our home in 1992. I have hired so many people for almost every kind of job and I don't recall the last time I was this happy with quality workmanship. a few years ago I got a really poor exterior paint job, I so truly WISH I had known Silvestre. I have previously had two different BIG NAME companies install tile, and unhappy with both finished rooms... that I get to live with ... (one the salesman did not discuss lay-out pattern-down a long hallway; and, the second one had half of the order with (Mohawk) cosmetic flaws,(master closets were empty) as well as did not dry fit for approval on room center... so they pulled up wet tile ... and I also wish the majority of their cosmetic tile issue was all in the closets. I have learned so much. My new breakfast and laundry baseboards look great! and if we do not relocate in the next 24 months... and do get to stay.... guess who get my kitchen floor and cabinet work... thank you, Brothers Construction Company for such wonderful, fast and professional service. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to get tiling done?

You can install tiling on your floors, walls, counters, kitchen backsplash, outdoor patio and shower — to name a few places. Tile is beautiful, easy to clean, durable, and resilient against kids and pets. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Often, tile installation specialists quote a price per square foot for installation. Costs can increase if you want the pro to supply the tile instead of ordering it yourself. Other factors that can increase cost include specialized installation with a unique design that will require more labor to install.

Prep work will also affect tile installation costs. Demolition of the existing floor, counter or backsplash takes time and energy that will be reflected in the price. Necessary repairs, such as a sub-floor that needs bolstering before tile flooring can be installed, will also increase costs. For tile showers, one example of tile installation cost may be approximately $25 per square foot including all materials and labor. Average tile installation costs for backsplashes may run anywhere from $10 to $40, depending on the materials selected and the amount of labor required. The larger the area where tile is being installed, the lower the price per square foot will likely be. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for wood-look tile installation in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

  • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
    • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot — or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If you’re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.

How much does it cost to install tiles in a kitchen?

One of the most common kitchen upgrades is installing decorative backsplash tiles in the space between the counters and cabinets. It’s a chance for homeowners to get creative while also protecting the kitchen walls from splashes and stains. Like all tiling projects, kitchen tile project costs depend on the tiles you choose, installation materials such as grout and mortar, and any surface materials, like replacement backer board. The national average for a tiled kitchen backsplash is $490-$750. In general, pricing averages $10-$40 per square foot for installation, not including tile. Some professional tile installers have a minimum day rate for small projects, which averages $350.
