    Linda Pritchett Studio

I provide piano lessons in my home studio in Hurst, Texas, Monday through Thursday each week. My "after school" teaching hours are from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. I accept students from the age of 7. Decades of experience has shown that children younger than 7 are not quite ready for piano instruction. I provide traditional piano instruction (technique, music theory, note reading, etc.) with emphasis on musicality. Morning or mid-day lesson times are easily arranged for adults or home-schooled students. With my wide range of experience with students of all ages and at all stages, I welcome new students from beginner to advanced! Monthly tuition is determined by the number of lessons scheduled for the student each month. I have found it beneficial to personally meet all prospective students, and, in the case of young students, to meet with the prospective student's parents. This allows a thorough review of my policies, and it provides an opportunity for me to meet the student and to understand the student's expectations and goals. To schedule an appointment at which we can discuss piano instruction for you or your young student, please call me at your convenience. I applaud your interest in piano instruction! Music instruction, and especially piano instruction, is a valuable investment in lifelong enjoyment. Fortunate indeed is the person who, through competent instruction and personal discipline, is able to reach his or her musical potential. Whether that musical potential is playing simple melodies for personal enjoyment or performing professionally, the rewards are great. Piano is my "life's work." As a piano teacher for well over forty years, I have had the opportunity to work with students of every age and at every stage of development, some of whom have become church pianists; others have become piano teachers themselves, ever-broadening the art and craft. Countless others have developed piano skills that enable them to play for their own enjoyment. All of them have advanced their understanding of, and appreciation for, the beautiful and universal language that is music. I welcome the opportunity to discuss piano instruction for you or your young student.

Because I am a performing musician and a state certified teacher, I may be able to find solutions to issues that other teachers cannot. The analyzing part - that's what I like the most about my profession. What is the student saying, what am I trying to communicate, what music will work the best at my gigs - what is happening in the student mind - I love the puzzle!

All of our teachers have extremely high success rates! Our students have gone on to do well in Middle School and High School bands, choir and orchestras. They have also played in garage band and strings ensembles in the community and for family and friends. I love seeing our students succeed not just in competitions but in life! Sometimes that means just working up the courage to stand in front of a group of peers and play or sing and something and sometimes it's just making a new friend in our girls singing group. I love helping our students in any way I can and helping them find their passion and love for music.

My students know that I want to understand what motivates them, and what makes them excited about music. I am usually very good at reading various types of personalities. I like to help the students to realize for themselves how they learn. I think people learn differently, and our brains are uniquely individual, although having similar overall functions. My aim is to raise up students who have exemplary abilities, help students to pursue their musical dreams, and be deeply satisfied. My students always feel that they are having fun, getting a great deal, and making wonderful progress. They are proud to recommend me. That is all I can ask for. I get paid to sing and play piano, and share this awesome gift. I love to meet new people and then challenge and push them to learn all they can. I really enjoy developing their style, and getting to know them through the relationship that is built. We laugh, play, sing, and just enjoy ourselves to the max!. I have made friends that I will have all my life, and that is really awesome.

I take a physiological approach to singing... after all it is a physical endeavor. The voice or larynx, despite all its complexities, is just another set of muscles that can be trained to reach its fullest potential. The method that I teach, “The Franco/Italian Bel Canto Method” has been taught in Europe for more than 200 years and has produced the world’s greatest classical singers. Now having said that let me assure you studying this method doesn’t mean that you have to become a classical singer. The techniques used are designed to strengthen and improve the quality of the human voice and can be applied to any genre whether your goal is “Broadway” “American Idol” or just to improve your voice for you own personal satisfaction. The method also addresses all things associated with singing, such as breathing and breath control. I have been singing and teaching for over 30 years both professionally and for my own enjoyment. Singing is my passion, it is what I do. I have found that teaching someone to sing is perhaps one of the most rewarding things I do.

I teach to the person and not by a single method. I also teach improvisation and playing by ear... something that many music teachers leave out of their curriculum. Also being a performer and composer I have an interesting view of music and how the industry effects it. I am passionate about music. It is so important in my, and my family's life. I am so thankful that my parents let me take music lessons and so thankful that I loved it enough to practice. There is nothing like music in the universe. For the individual it creates a connection between your mind, body, spirit and soul, that is so unique and complex. With knowledge of music and the ability to play an instrument you can communicate almost anywhere in the world and make friends instantly. I have received and been able to give so much joy throughout my life with my music. It is magic always at my fingertips. Please take 5 minutes and watch this short video. It is worth your time. youtube.com/watch?v=r0jkcyz8hng

Hi I am interested in piano lessons for my 4 1/2 years old son, who is very much interested about them as well. Please let me know what options are you currently or (in the short future) offering. I would like to know the price (whether private or group) and what times are they offered at, and how often. Ideally I would prefer weekend classes if you have, but I can be flexible with any other schedule you may currently have. Thank you Eglia
