I have been remodeling houses for a little over a decade and Andre has been the best painter I've ever encountered. Painting is always something you think you can diy, but there is an incredible amount of difference his level of skill and attention makes on the project. On top of that, he is incredibly stress free to work with. I am definitely going to be using him for all my future projects

Carlos was very meticulous about his work. He did an excellent job painting the cabinet boxes by hand, he double checked the job to touch up if needed. He was friendly and notified me if he had matters which would delay his arrival. He is a prime example of a customer oriented businessman.

A few years back, the New York Times ran a Modern Love column in which the writer compared relationships to contractors to relationships with boyfriends. In the beginning, he meets a girl's high hopes: he calls the next day and shows up on time, enthusiastic to be with you and full of promises. And then….well, the calls are less frequent, he's hard to reach, and now he's late, a bit distracted, and, worse, he's seeing someone else! No disrespect to men: my late husband was wonderful, smart, a talented musician who knew how to use a tape-measure, a drill, a paintbrush. Alas, I speak from experience: Some contractors are like some musicians: trying to make it, running from gig to gig, and sometimes, well, they are just gigging. Over the years, I've had so much done in our co-op, walls knocked down, baseboards removed, cabinets built, walls replastered, etc. I've made mistakes in judgement, I have had to learn to say what I've wanted, and I've wasted money. I wish I had read reviews, and I hope you read mine: Carlos Vasconcelos is the real deal. I engaged him to replaster my ugly ceiling and walls in a small lower east side room (300 square feet, approx). It was uneven, wavy, full of bumps---all the result of faulty reconstruction, Con Ed soot, and years of building shifting. Carlos corrected everything, patiently explaining his process and reasons. His professional knowledge is sound, his preparation and execution were meticulous: the ceiling is flat, practically rebuilt and the walls are straight. And because I had fractured my knee, I had to ask him to paint the walls, too. Of course, I was looking for the perfect color, couldn't find it, ended up mixing it myself---and he never hurried me. Thank you for that, Carlos. I love the room; it's just what I'd hoped for. And something else: his disposition is as smooth as my walls. He's polite, kind, patient, reliable, always texts or calls, stays late, shows up early. I hope he'll come back next fall. He's an excellent contractor, and one day he'll make an fine husband.

Andre did an amazing job on my kitchen. He fixed the ceiling and walls, and painted them, and he cleaned up after the job was done. He seemed like a very honest man to do business with and I trusted him in my home.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask my customers a basic questionnaire of what they want and how I can help. The answers vary quite differently - from some just wanting to see their houses finished clean and spotless, to others wanting some element of design on the walls and ceilings to match their picture frames and/or ornaments. Whatever they want, we're able to provide fast and reliable work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 16 years of experience working in various facets of construction, but have been dedicated to learning and mastering the art of painting, spraying, and plastering since 2001. I believe in training and education and my goal is to pursue new techniques to advance my knowledge, but experience is essential for real life situations.
