My English grammar and spelling are excellent. I can type up to, and sometimes over, 75 words per minute. I'm competent in Microsoft Word. I am a dexterous logophile and a creative writing adept.
Whoa. This is starting to sound like a resume for a corporate secretary. Wait, that actually sounds fun. Can I be a corporate secretary?
I named my typewriter Adelaide. Does that make me stand out? Probably in a bad way. I know how to engage the reader (Are you bored yet?). I'm excellent in character development. It must be my favorite part of the entire novel process--creating a person inside my head who occasionally talks to me.
Wait. Scratch that. That's weird.
I know when cliches are good and I certainly know when they're bad. Too many run-ins with the bird and the worm. Or the bee's knees. The cat's pajamas? No?
I can be witty and quirky with my writing style, but I know when it's time to get serious. Sometimes I have trouble with getting out of the serious funk, but I get there. Eventually.
Sour, sultry, and sometimes sapless satire is my superlative suitor. Never sweet, though. And also alliteration. And words. Mm. Love me some words.
If you need proofreading done, revising, synonym swaps, adjective inputs, adverb abatements, or any general edit of an English document, I'd be happy to do so for you.
I can also, as an example, tutor a youngling or a technically illiterate adult or generally anyone in English grammar and/or spelling & vocabulary, such as teaching them to read and/or write a proper sentence. Now, I'm not talking hitting the lowercase e curve exactly on the training dot, or making the uppercase E impeccably straight. Nothing too stern like that. But I can certainly teach them what a proper sentence should look like.
