They did great job moving the pool table into storage. Even sat and waited while I ran to drop my kid off at day camp.

First of all, let me start by saying the day I moved was the hottest day of the year thusfar... These guys moved: Queen bed (+everything that goes with it) Large couch + chair 12 large boxes 12 med boxes Dresser 2 TVs Table + chairs (About) 15-20 miscellaneous things and it took them less than 3 hours!!! That 3 hours also includes drive time (about 35 minutes) and taking everything up 3 flights of stairs into my new place! I couldn’t be more happy with this company, they did an incredible job wrapping and covering everything to ensure my items were safe! I’m very picky and this company is amazing!!!!

There were two workers. I have to give major props to Jaime! He was professional, fast, he knew exactly what was going on, and did everything to make my move smooth. If not for him, I would have pulled my hair out. Jaime packed up my bathroom, bedroom, clothes closet, hallway closet, and hallway in the amount of time it took the other worker (main person?) to pack up the kitchen. One. plate. at. a. time.... :-/ I'll let you read between those lines. Thing is, if they had finished sooner, I would have tipped even higher! Loading and unloading was fine, but again, this is where Jaime shined over the second worker. I was very clear about where I wanted most items, but Jaime went out of his way to set up my bed so I could be comfortable on my first night in my new place. The other worker kept acting confused about a lot of things: "That bookshelf isn't going to make it up those stairs", "where do you want that box again?" "what room are you talking about????" Then he made a comment that moving my electric piano would cost extra even though it wasn't on the initial quote--even though I included it on the things I needed moved. The comment came out of nowhere halfway into the move. I took a lot of time to make this review just to make sure I was calm, but even a month later, it all still applies. The main worker made a couple of comments that don't apply to the move that still left a bad taste in my mouth, so just for next time: Don't worry about hourly rates, just get the move going; your customers will appreciate it. If they don't compensate you then, they will in either the reviews or word of mouth...ie, more business.

Doorite moved the pool table within the metroplex. Moses is very knowledgeable and professional. He informed us where and when the table was originally purchased. Would recommend Moses for any kind of pool table move, tear down, or assembly.

These guys are awesome!!!!!! He moved his schedule around day after day for me since my closing on my house kept getting pushed back. He has always replied back to my emails and phone calls even though a couple of them were at 11 pm at night. He showed up when he said he would and he was very proffessional. Great personality and very knowledgeable of pool tables. Gave me some great tips on how to maintain and preserve my pool table. Great guy great service great veteran of the armed services and much respect. I couldn't be happier and will be using him no matter what on all my pool table needs. Thanks again and Merry Christmas.

Let me start by saying, Day and Night Movers is the epitome of an Amazing All American company! The movers who work for this company are honest, hard working men with great work ethics and an insane duty for excellence... I had somewhat of a 2-part move. I had to move my furniture into a storage unit for a month until my new apartment was ready. So, I previously made the ill-fated mistake a lot of us make by hiring the first, cheapest moving company I could find (I won't name names.) But lets just say I was greeted at my door by 2 thugs, over an hour late, and grossly overcharged by the end of the day... For the second part of my move out of storage into my apartment, I wasn't taking any more chances on thugs handling my items and knowing where I lived so I asked around and did my research. From word of mouth from my physician I was referred to Day and Night Movers. Doctors know best and Day and Night Movers exceeded my expectations and that is why they've "earned" their 5 Stars in my book!!! 1 Star - For 'Timeliness': They agreed to meet me at 2pm at my storage unit. When I arrived at 2 on the dot they were already there, eager and ready to work. 2 Stars - For 'Professionalism': I am a woman and was by myself with the movers but they treated me with the upmost respect, courtesy, and patience. Justin walked me through all the steps of the paperwork in under 5 minutes while Brad prepped the truck for the move. It was as if they had a plan and no one sat around twirling their thumbs on my dime. When the moving started they didn't drag their feet either. These guys hustled!!! Justin is built like an Ox and Brad has a unique eye for the details and placement of furniture. That takes me to my 3rd star... 3 Stars - For 'Attention to Details': This was very important for me being that I own several valuable pieces of antique furniture, custom designed furnishings, and art. They provided extra wraps and blankets to protect those items and gently SAT them in the truck... Not SCOOTED them into place. This is big because scooting the legs of furniture weakens the frame. In addition, they secured them to the wall so they weren't bouncing all around the truck during the transit. (I can't thank them enough for this step!) 4 Stars - For 'Going Above and Beyond': When they arrived at my downtown apartment, they asked me where I wanted each box / item placed. They didn't just dump all my furniture and boxes in my living room like previous movers had. They put my couch, bed, dressers, t.v.'s, tables, (EVERYTHING) into the position I wanted them. Again, paying close attention to not scoot them across the hardwood floors. After everything, they cleaned up after themselves. They didn't leave a trail of wrap and tape scattered around. 5 Stars- For 'Price': Their cost is extremely fair for the quality of service they provided. They got my move completed in a timely manner from beginning to end, no slacking! Overall, I couldn't imagine a better company to praise for their services. These movers are good men willing to work hard but work even harder to service us individually. If the manager / owner is reading this... I would be very happy to be a reference for your company. Great Job, Guys!!! Keep up the Awesome Work!!!

We needed a rather heavy table moved from a store to our home. The move was handled very professionally and courteously by Mr. Brown and his associate. I would recommend Brown's Moving Service to anyone from 1 piece of furniture to a house full. We will definitely be using his services in the future. The charge for this move was very reasonable especially for the service provided.

I am sure they were my mover before I even inquired about them. This is because there were quite a number of people whom I asked for a recommendation gave 24 hours moving game. I am pretty confident and I am right to feel that way because everything went smooth. Which indeed the cost of my move deserves a higher pricing because of their professional, witty, hardwork, careful and intelligent pool of gentlemen. Never would I need to regret moving with them because they were great movers. I would hire them again. More power to all.

I really enjoy working with Monarca whenever I have to move. This past weekend was actually my fourth move with these guys. For this last job, however, I simply had the Monarca pick up a pool table from some guy in Flower Mound, and come drop it off at my new location. Luckily, the pool table was not one of the professional ones with a marble slab, so Monarca was able to do it. Otherwise, I would have had to hire a professional pool table moving company for the job. The longest part of the move was probably the drive from Flower Mound to my townhome since we got stuck in traffic for a while. In the end, however, the guys were able to get it into my home.

    About

I'm a bi-vocational pastor who has assembled, disassembled, and recovered over 1000 pool tables. Perfectionist with a stellar reputation. Clients are often new friends by the time the work is completed. Nearly every job seems to lead to another referral. In recent years, I’ve enjoyed working in student ministries on campus and in an internship setting. Yet, having assessed my gifts and skillset, I've increasingly sensed a calling to serve the disadvantaged. I'm working on a transitional strategy to assist with the vocational training that leads to full, independent lives. To supplement a Master of Divinity degree, I’m currently earning an MBA in order to prepare for non-profit management. I anticipate this planning process will take at least two years. During this time, I’m interested in opportunities to cover startup costs and modest living expenses.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to restore a pool table?

Keeping your pool table in prime condition both protects your investment and makes it more fun to play. If your billiards table has been damaged by age or player misuse, experienced pool table repair pros are ready to help. The average national cost to hire a pool table specialist is $330-$400, but pricing can vary depending on how much restoration work needs to be done and the type and cost of materials you need. Depending on the type of pool table you want, the cost to buy one new can range from $1,000 to $5,000 and up, so investing in upkeep every few years makes good financial sense. Common pool table repairs include refelting the table, replacing cushions and cushion rubber that is has deteriorated or been damaged, installing new pockets or replacing damaged pockets, and fixing chips or smoothing uneven slate. You can also have wood pool tables refinished to restore them to their former luster, which may start around $600 and go up, depending on size, wood type and necessary repairs. Pool table repair pros can level an uneven table, repair broken leg mounts and address other foundational issues. Pool table repair pros can also fix coin-operated parts for commercial tables.

How much does it cost to replace pool table felt?

Owning a pool table, whether for pleasure or business, means investing in upkeep. Keeping the felt in good condition is important to ensure not only appearance but a smooth game. The national average cost to hire a pool table repair professional ranges from $330 to $400. A quality pool table is a major investment, so you want to hire a pro who is experienced and comes with glowing references. Refelting a pool table is a specialized skill calling for technical tools, competence with slate smoothing and repair, and the ability to provide a precision application of the felt that won’t hinder play.

When well cared for, pool table felt can last up to a decade; pros recommend replacing your pool table felt every three years or so, more often if you play heavily. Refelting and pool table repairs can cost more for antique and custom pool tables. Commercial pool table owners are wise to have multiple pool tables repaired at one time, as they can often get discounts for volume work.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
