Darryl was very courteous, kind and attentive to the need of a family group function especially since everyone had their preferences. Although it was Buffet style and the majority request is what got served he still tried to accommodate others in different ways, maybe with some samplers and or allowing smaller purchases. I can say that he was very customer friendly when it came to discounting due to last minute changes and also issued a refund quickly when it was noticed one of our dishes was forgotten. Some of the items were not as some of my family members expected, but of course I did not eat certain things they ate. My uncle said the Pecan Pie was delicious, I enjoyed the banana pudding after a day, it needed to be refrigerated in order to have a thicker pudding taste. The pork ribs were very good, the ceaser salad was really good, the fruit tray was very fresh and good. I’ve had better Mac and cheese as well as baked beans myself, also my family said it was very bland and not as they expected oven baked dishes to be. The Beef Ribs was said to be tough but I don’t eat them, the brisket was cut too thick but overall had a good texture. The smoked chicken was not thoroughly cooked, for some they said the thighs were still blood pink but the chicken legs were just fine. I believe it was a hit or miss on some items and how they are prepared verses what others expected! The peach cobbler I don’t eat no matter how it is cooked but I do understand what my family was saying being that it was my mom specialty dish we were expecting a crispy pie crust with peaches but they said it was more of a cake batter. I believe if we knew exactly how each dish was prepared as far as pie crust verses cake batter, baked verses smoked it probably would not have thrown everyone off. Overall the business seems as though they are getting their footing and bearings, but haven’t quite found their niche yet when it come to a variety of food and a customers taste buds. Also the seafood gumbo had no seafood in it the taste was okay but would have been better with more than just chicken and sausage if considered seafood we expected at least shrimp in it also, my son in law said their was no spicy creole taste either, I don’t do spicy food so that’s why it was fine to me. Other than that Darryl really tried it’s just that my family are tough critics!! Also we were expecting freshly squeezed lemonade and rolls. There was no rolls and only a Jug of great value lemonade, so hopefully that will change on the menu as well.

Thank you so much for your honest feedback. We will definitely take into consideration giving a thorough description of how our dishes are prepared. As you stated there is a difference between smoked and baked. Our smoked chicken is smoked for hours on our smoker before being checked by a temperature gauge. All chicken was at serving temperature. The reason for the pink hue of the meat is due in part because the blood vessels of the chicken does not break down fully due to the slow cook. The pink color of the meat is similar to what we call a smoke ring which is present in other types of smoked meat. Please know that we take all necessary precautions when preparing all of our food items.
