Dallas Based Designer who loves designing clothing, and creating something out of nothing. Being able to design something that you see someone wearing is a dream come true. I've always been designing, ever since I was little. When I got a little older I started to teach myself to sew...very badly I might admit. Eventually after lots of practice I was getting better. I ended up going to school at The University of North Texas for fashion design. I graduated Cum Laude (3.5 GPA) with a BFA in Fashion Design and BBA in Entrepreneurship. Ever since then I have been working with several different companies in the fashion industry learning and expanding my knowledge. I now enjoy creating custom designs for people. Turns out that saying is true for me: If you love what you do, you will never have to work a day in your life.

Everything about my experience was great. She was very professional and welcoming during the fitting. She was upfront from the beginning about pricing and was able to get my dress to me days before my event. She even went out of her normal schedule to make sure I could pickup my dress on time. It fits perfectly, by the way. I originally was just bothered by the length and knew I needed it hemmed but she suggested we take in the waist and it made a world of a difference. I would highly recommend Kala for your tailoring needs.

Kala is a fabulous taylor! I tested her skills with alterations of a formal gown, pants with weird hemlines, shorts that needed the legs tapered, and shirts that needed shortening. She completed all of the alterations perfectly and ahead of schedule. I am so happy to have found her!

She adjusted my wedding gown for it to fit me and she did it quickly! Within 30 minutes she was done with adjustments. Price is reasonable and she responds fast! I will definitely send all my clothes that needs adjustments her way ❤️

I charge either hourly or by project depending on the type of work.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet the client and have both of us comfortable with each other. Making sure all their needs in their garment are taken care of. Then we establish what needs to be done to achieve exactly what the client wants.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in fashion design from UNT.
I’ve worked in the industry for about 5 years with several companies including: JCPenney, Gerber Technology, ASKARI, and Indigo Agency Showroom, etc.
I also have created all types of apparel, created an evening gown collection, and been in several fashion shows.
