Introduction: There are many great guitarists, but most of them are not great teachers. Teaching is its own art. I am dedicated to the craft of teaching and guitar, making lessons practical and fun. And most importantly, I try to infuse my total love of music into each lesson. I know the beginning can be tough, but my goal is to help you see beyond that into the big, wonderful picture of music! I love seeing beginning students starting, for the first time, to fall in love with what I fell in love with so long ago. And for more advanced students, I like opening new doors to different genres and possibilities that used to seem hard or confusing. I’m also available as a solo or group performer for weddings and events. With two charting albums to my credit and two national television specials under my name, I’ve got plenty of experience for whatever you need!

PJ has been such a great choice as a guitar instructor for a group session including myself and two other friends! He is very experienced, passionate, patient and organized, and it shows through his teaching methods and instruction. PJ is adept and skilled at identifying students' areas of weakness and strength and fine tuning his approach to help one excel to the best of their ability! PJ is an excellent teacher! He is well versed in music theory as well as performance and can explain ideas and concepts no matter the musical level of his students. He is patient but also holds his students accountable. I would recommend him to teach anyone whether they have a passion for music, or just want to get their feet wet.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a B.A. in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University, where I studied with greats like Mulgrew Miller and Gene Bertoncini. I also studied and later performed with jazz legend Bucky Pizzarelli, guitarist for Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and others.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started regular teaching at Guitar Center. I never expected that it would be such a rewarding endeavor. At first, I was just happy to be working with a guitar in my hands, but I soon discovered a passion for teaching that matched my love for music.
