About
There are many great guitarists, but most of them are not great teachers. Teaching is its own art. I am dedicated to the craft of teaching and guitar, making lessons practical and fun. And most importantly, I try to infuse my total love of music into each lesson. I know the beginning can be tough, but my goal is to help you see beyond that into the big, wonderful picture of music! I love seeing beginning students starting, for the first time, to fall in love with what I fell in love with so long ago. And for more advanced students, I like opening new doors to different genres and possibilities that used to seem hard or confusing. I’m also available as a solo or group performer for weddings and events. With two charting albums to my credit and two national television specials under my name, I’ve got plenty of experience for whatever you need!

I recently moved to Dallas and was looking for a new guitar instructor. After some research and conversations with a few instructors about their teaching style/method, I chose to work with PJ. After two lessons I knew I made the right choice. PJ is all about understanding your goals, and helping you get there. He doesn’t force his agenda, or a specific curriculum or genre. He helps you learn stuff that interests you, and he fills in with theory as you go. The theory becomes relevant to what you want to learn. You start learning the why behind guitar playing, instead of just memorizing songs or licks. In regards to PJs skills and knowledge as a player and musician, he is on another level! His ability to hear songs he has never heard before, figure them out note by note in a few minutes, and explain to you exactly what the guitar part is doing and why, is like nothing I’ve seen before. After every lesson, I come away inspired to learn more and get better. PJ loves music and his passion shows. If your looking to take your guitar playing to another level, call PJ!

My husband and adult son have been taking weekly lessons from PJ now for 5 weeks (we just bought another round of lessons they enjoy it so much). PJ is VERY RESPONSIVE and was a phenomenal help in letting me surprise my guys by providing me with a gift certificate and then holding a spot for them until I could gift them with the certificate. My husband loves that PJ took the time to learn what level he was on and start from there as opposed to starting with basics and assuming he knew what my husband and son did or didn't already know. They are both very happy with PJ's instruction and demeanor and communication style. I HIGHLY recommend PJ!

PJ is an excellent teacher! He is well versed in music theory as well as performance and can explain ideas and concepts no matter the musical level of his students. He is patient but also holds his students accountable. I would recommend him to teach anyone whether they have a passion for music, or just want to get their feet wet.

Just had my first lesson with PJ. His method of teaching is pretty straight forward and builds a solid plan to work on. Only had one lesson so far, but would definitely recommend him.
