The Taste of East Texas has nearly a decade of experience providing high quality corporate, private event, and wedding catering services. We only use very high quality ingredients and each item on our menu is scratch made. We use no frozen or processed food and organic ingredients whenever possible. We take great pride in our attention to health and safety, staying up to date with regular Safeserve local and state food handler training. Additionally we offer very competitive prices and excellent customer service. Every event is a celebration! We sometimes get to be a part of some of the most cherished events in people lives; and have the opportunity to make those events even more special. You can't beat that feeling.

You just can't find a better caterer than Chris and his staff. I just can't thank them enough for all they did to make my wedding perfect. The chicken was moist and juicy according to my guest and the lasagna was perfect. Hire this caterer you will not regret it. They think of everything and guide you through your decisions and the process. Chris is professional and somewhat of a perfectionist. He strives for excellence and your event is just as important to him as if it was his own. Thank you so much Taste of East Texas. I'm looking forward to working with you on my next event.

The Taste of East Texas provide the catered (two entrÃ©e) buffet for our citiesâ annual volunteer appreciation dinner event, held at a local church on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 6 p.m., for 65 people for an average price. I found Christopher Johnson to be very easy to communicate with, I was impressed that he was easy to reach via phone, generally answering calls immediately. (no phone tag) He also responded to email communication promptly. After a taste test of the beef roast and the Mediterranean chicken, the final menu decision was Chicken Alfredo pasta and the Mediterranean Chicken with garlic rosemary potatoes, roasted vegetables, spring green salad, & yeast rolls. We also choose the Banana Bread Pudding and Strawberry Chocolate Cake. Many compliments were received on the food, the homemade rolls were excellent. The banana bread pudding was not popular but the chocolate covered strawberries atop the moist chocolate cake was delicious. Mr. Johnson and his assistant arrived 1 Â½ hours prior to serving time, as promised. They worked efficiently to set up, plate desserts and did not appear to be rushed or stressed. The food was served hot from professional chaffing dishes. Some other pros were having the entrees served so that portion size was maintained as opposed to self-serve. Also appreciated were tea refills and plates being bussed which would have been more efficient with 3 total servers instead of 2, he did apologize as one worker called in last minute. I am happy to say there were no problems at all, my only suggestion might be to offer an additional dessert choice. I would defiantly choose The Taste of East Texas for future catering events.

Chris goes above in beyond. I'll review each part of the service as part of my review: Price - I had a set menu and # of guests so I could do an apples to apples comparison. Chris just beat out the field. Price was a major factor in the decision. Many fell into the sweet spot... while others were double or more. Service - Chris' team was the best I've seen from a catering team. 5 Start Courteous, professional, polite. No one felt rushed. Communication was AWESOME. Food - Menu: Brisket, Chicken, potato salad, baked beans, slaw, and peach cobbler. Everything was freshly made. Could tell nothing was commercially made. Really flavorful brisket and chicken. Side were amazing. Cobbler blew EVERYONE away it was so flavorful. Hours later people were still talking about the cobbler. Really can't say enough. We definitely plan on using Chris again in the future. This was the right choice.

I was apprehensive at first to use a caterer that I had not used before, I checked the references and decided to give Christopher a try. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Chris followed up with me every step of the way. He showed up exactly when he said that he would. The lasagna fed hungry, growing teens to complete satisfaction, and the adult volunteers were also filled and they raved about the food. He will definitely be used for our annual Winter Formal again, but he will also be used in other events for us, too. I am looking forward to my next event catered by Christopher Randle-Johnson at the Taste of East Texas!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer custom and pre-designed wedding packages that include everything from tables and seating to linens, stemware and china. All wedding package menus include cocktail hour appetizers, dinner entrees, side dishes and desserts, tailored just for you!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We also have the ability to secure your booking for your date before the tasting, if you want to decide on your menu nearer the date of your wedding or event. After gaining an understanding of what the client wants, we plan for the tasting. After a menu is chosen we review all the other information and details so that we can provide the client with exact pricing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our team is made up of people with dozens of years of experience in each area. Our servers, chefs, and coordinators all have extensive knowledge and understanding; which allows us to more easily to meet, then exceed your expectations! I am a licensed Food Handler Manager in the State of Texas. We are a fully licensed and permit catering operation and carry a million dollar liability policy to protect our partners and clients.
